List of David Lauter's Reviews
Horrible listening skills. Persistent in telling me what I was doing wrong rather then constructive ways to do right. Rude. Short spoken.
Dr. Lauter performed my gastric bypass several years. When I first met Dr. Lauter, he was more than willing to answer any and all questions my parents and I threw at him. After experiencing complications he is the only one who would listen to me and ended up saving my life. Dr. Lauter is amazing and if you are lucky enough to have him as your surgeon he will take care of you.
Dr. Lauter explained the procedure clearly and thoroughly. He answered all my questions and encouraged me to contact him if any questions came up after leaving his office. He was compassionate and did not rush through our appointments. His staff was professional, warm, welcoming and respectful. My surgery was not remarkable, my recovery was extraordinary! I have highly recommend Dr. Lauter to friends and family, and they report the same positive experiences!
David Lauter saved my life TWICE.
Excellent listening skills. The appointment is about how he can help you not about what you are doing wrong.
The doctor was very nice, helpful, and did a good job with the gallbladder surgery. All went well until the follow up visit. He never looked at the incision sites, and I complained that my belly button was pulling and very tight and uncomfortable. He told me to work through the pain and feel free to push myself. That night I blew out 2 sutures in the belly button incision. I called the office on Monday, he called back that evening and said it sounded fine, told me to call if it got worse or didn't get better, and hung up. By Friday I was still in a lot of pain, so I called again. The answering service said they would forward the information to the surgeon covering his practice while he was on vacation and she would call me back. That was 5 days ago! Thank goodness the doc at the walk-in clinic was a retired surgeon, she saw that the sutures that were left were pulling the skin apart instead of together, and doing it every time I moved. It would never have healed without removing the offending sutures. The pain instantly went away after she cut them, and the infection is under control. I'm told it would have been serious before too much longer, but I am irked that I had to suffer for a whole week for something that simple, and that they still haven't called me back!!! Thank goodness I found help elsewhere, not sure if I would recommend based on the post-op treatment. The surgeon who helped me couldn't believe he 1) didn't inspect the incision sites at the follow up, 2) didn't have me come in when I called the first time after the incision had re-opened, and 3) full-on blew me off the last time.
Dr. Lauter gave me my life back. It's amazing how much I can do now because of the gastric bypass surgery. My husband and daughter also had the procedure done. While I had no complications, my daughter needed extra care and he was there for every minute of it, without making us feel like we were inconveniencing him. I have since recommmended him to several other people, 1 of which has already had the surgery with much success. What can I say about Dr. Lauter??? Wonderful. What can I say about Kelly, his office staff??? Wow! You couldn't ask for a better support group to be on your side. I love them!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
