I've seen Dr. Terry twice in the past month. She is warm, friendly, and happy to answer questions. I really wanted to give her a good review. However, her lack of basic anatomical knowledge has resulted in me developing a keloid scar about half an inch from my vagina. Story time: I went to see her originally because I had an infection and a painful bump at the top of my thigh. She diagnosed me with BV, the bump being a swollen lymph node, which sometimes happens with infections, and gave me antibiotics. She pressured me into getting a partial STD panel because I had a new partner. I was resistant because I knew we were clean. Tests come back clear, except for a BV being positive. However, after the antibiotic course is over, the painful bump comes back, like the size of a small grape overnight. I go back to her and she diagnosis me with lymphatic swelling again and based only on this swelling, diagnoses me with BV again. The treatment for BV had cured every other symptom except the lymph node. Despite being a symptom of BV, the swelling wasn't responding well to BV treatment. This made us suspicious that the inflammation could be caused by the next most likely culprit: an STD. Despite this theory, Dr. Terry prescribes another 10 day course of antibiotics. I'm getting pissed at my partner because I'm convinced he's given me a serious STD. Tests come back, I'm totally clean, in fact I don't even have BV. I didn't even need a second 10 day course of antibiotics. Well the bump comes back again, after the second course. I don't have and bacterial infection and I don't have an STD. Scared, I go back to the clinic. This time Dr. Terry isn't available. I end up with a doctor who looks like a Navy Seal and this man looks at this bump on my inner thigh for 0.2 seconds and without even palpitating, diagnoses me with an clogged oil gland, which has gone untreated for over a month.. "So its not a lymph node?" "Nope, that's not even where your lymph nodes are." My lymph nodes were a full 2 inches higher. Clogged oil glands are common, basically Superman pimples that occur under the skin. Now the clogged gland has gotten to the point that the doctor has to lacerate it. Think needles and scalpels and Sargent Dr. Pimple Popper about two pubic hairs away from getting iodine on your hymen. More antibiotics, Epsom salt baths, anti-bacterial soap, effectively waxing myself with bandaid after bandaid. Praise Satan for Dr. SWAT because the swelling has finally gone down, but with epic bruising. Dr. Terry's sex-negative attitude impaired her medical judgement to the point that she couldn't think outside the assumption that my symptoms must be a consequence of perceived promiscuity. In the words of Dr. Tactile Team "You didn't cause this, your boyfriend didn't cause this, its just bad luck." So to review, Dr. Terry *Does not know where the lymph nodes are *Does not know where the oil glands are *Cannot tell the difference between glands *Misdiagnosed me with lymphatic swelling due to BV twice *Misdiagnosed me with BV once, based on her misdiagnosis of lymphatic swelling *Prescribed an unnecessary 10 day course of antibiotics *Prescribed a 10-day course of antibiotics for a diagnosis she only had one symptom for *Prescribed a 10-day course of antibiotics for a diagnosis she was so unconfident in she was testing me to see otherwise *Had me do two unnecessary rounds of testing *Lite sl*t-shaming *SO MUCH STRESS

I feel fortunate to have found such an excellent doctor. Dr. Julie Terry is always upbeat, warm and personable yet focused on her patients. I always feel encouraged to ask questions and never feel a time limitation. She has a wide range of knowledge and is articulate. She doesn’t immediately recommend prescription drugs but, instead, is also willing to explore and consider other alternatives.
