Xiaoxiao Li Md's Online Review Report Card

Since my former doctor retired my medical group found Dr.Li and I'm glad they did. The receptionist is also kind and helpful. And Dr.Li is very thorough and knowledgeable she explained everything to me unlike my former doctor. I only wish I found Dr.Li sooner. There was almost no wait time. The office is very clean as well. I would recommend Dr. Li to anyone looking for a great doctor like her.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!!! My husband and I went in as a walk in and there was no patient, the clinic is clean but dead! No one in sight except the reception/nurse. I asked for the fee for a consultation for patients with no insurance. She said $75.00, I said okay. I paid. The doctor came in the room, where we were waiting and asked what's the problem? We were there as my husband had a panic attack and she went and told the nurse it $85.00 for that kind of consultation. ??? I'm worried about my husband so I paid the extra 10.00 dollars. She didn't even bother to walk in the room and gave us a script for some medication and said it was 20.00 more for the prescription!!This is a money hungry doctor, please stay away. I will make more calls today to report her.

Dr. Li has been my doctor for 4 years. She is very thorough and makes sure to listen to all my concerns. She fully explains any tests or medications. She asks questions to make sure I understand her findings and any treatments or referrals she recommends. She sees the whole person not just a symptom and works with me so I can have a healthy lifestyle. Her medical assistant is compassionate, a very good phlebotomist, does a complete intake, and actually takes blood pressure manually! The office staff is friendly, attentive and also helpful when dealing with the insurance company. They are accommodating to my schedule and get me in as soon as possible when I urgently need care. When I first became her patient, I lived in the Echo Park area then I moved to downtown Los Angeles, I kept her as my PCP. She is a treasure,worth the travel time and definitely a Five Star health care provider. I highly recommend Dr. Li and the Sunmoon Clinic.

I'm diabetic and my diabetes had gone unchecked for awhile 'cuz I didn't take it all that seriously. It was my mistake.I asked her for more information and she handed me a pamphlet. I read through the literature and it had the most basic information on what types of food I could eat. I had to figure things out on my own through trial and error, which made it a lot more difficult 'cuz I work on my feet. She just told me to take the medication she gave me.Every couple months or so, I would get gout from my diabetes. Turns out that being a food runner with gout isn't a good idea. I'll admit to that, but she constantly belittled me about having a depressive disorder and called me an alcoholic.She couldn't answer any questions about my health and constantly gave me blood tests with every visit. Then, on the follow-up visit, would berate me about my health and call me an alcoholic.After awhile, I only visited this place when I needed Metformin and gout meds for which I would ask for specific medications.Every review here is true. The receptionist is super nice and the doctor sucks. If you're on county health, she treats you like complete crap.

The receptionist is polite. The doctor is a lady, she has a very dry personality and gets mad very easily not a person, who you want to communicate because clearly you won't be able to if you ask questions. She is not patience. I give one star because the place is clean and the receptionist is polite nothing to do with the doctor , who is so rude and not professional. I did have one appointment with her but the last one.

I've had Dr. Li as my pcp for a couple of years now and stick with her because she's nice and respects what I want and lets me have my way even if she has a different opinion. She seems really smart and knows a lot - I have to go pretty often for lab tests because of my health issues. You can drop in and the wait is not as long as in other drs.' offices.

OMG! PLEASE DO NOT VISIT DR. XIA LI!!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!***her clinic is also under, SUNMOON URGENT CARE in Echo Park on Yelp***I had visited Dr. Li's office for the first time about two months ago. I was experiencing horrible lower back pain with sharp sensations in my lower abdominal area. Very bad nausea, dizziness etc. Upon meeting her, I had a very hard time understanding her English as she has a very thick accent. She was very dry and rude in how she presented herself. Her assistant took my urine sample and my vitals. While she was asking me medical questions, she asked me about my personal life.....how much did I pay with other doctors, what other insurances did I have before, was the Mercedes parked outside my car etc.....WTF?! She sent me home saying that she needed to get an authorization from my insurance before taking more tests. Two days later, I ended up in URGENT CARE and as it turned out after their tests I had some serious medical issues that would require surgery.I followed up with Dr. Li about a week or so later to get my urine results and to get a physical exam. I also brought the urgent care release papers with test results to her and she had a hard time reading them? She even asked me what some words meant?!? Wait, what? She kept flipping the pages back and forth as if she was pissed off. Again, I had absolutely NO STRENGTH to say anything.....I was ill. She said that according to the test, I was fine. I asked for a copy of my results (she didn't seem too happy about that) and I also requested a kidney/liver ultrasound be done per the URGENT CARE PHYSICIANS request. She mentioned that she needed to get my insurance to authorize it. ***I brought that test result to my naturopathic doctor and she said that I had a urine Infection which would explain some of the sharp pain I was feeling!!! My naturopath couldn't understand how Dr. Li missed that!The day after I went to URGENT CARE, I had a surprise concert, for my mom, to attend to. I couldn't go because of the horrible pain I was in. Luckily, I had insurance on it and all I had to do was have Dr. Li, my PCP, fill out a quick Physicians Form with my recent visits to get a reimbursement.I called Vanessa, very sweet receptionist, and asked how much it would be......she said, $25. Okay, so today, I showed up. I paid my $40 copayment and waited for Dr. Li. She walked in with the Physicians Form in her hand and with my file with results from my physical exam. She AGAIN kept flipping the papers BACK AND FORTH mumbling God knows what and then asking me why I needed her to fill out the form. Then asked me how much I paid for my concert tickets?!?!? I don't even know why I told her! I felt like she was a horrible commander and I was in communist China being detained and questioned!!! She went on and said it would cost an extra $40 then....kept flipping papers, looked at me as I must've looked confused, then said $35. I explained that I was told that it would be $25. Omg! Why did I even say that! SHE FLIPPED OUT!!!! She began yelling at me! Mind you, I was still feeling VERY WEAK AND CONCERNED ABOUT MY HEALTH! SHE LOST HER MIND!! I began to tremble and cry and I told her that I was recording everything and she shut up and looked stunned! She realized that her abusive behavior was being recorded. Omg!!! She became another person......I think she's bipolar or something! SHES CRAZY! I told her that she was harassing me and that I needed to get out of the room as I was concerned for my health! I am exhausted even writing this but I had to do it!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT VISIT HER!!!! She's CRAZY!!! So much more happened; perhaps I'll write the rest later! Just know that something is OFF with her!!!!!!! I'm reporting her to my insurance first thing in the morning! *** By the way, she charged the guy after me $25 for his insurance form. He told me once he saw me outside. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!! I visited her clinic on Logan St in Echo Park.
