List of Joon K. Song Md's Reviews
Very nasty, treats certain patients like dirt. He is honest and knowledgeable, but very disrespectful! His nasty attitude drowns all of his positive qualities. He will cure you if something is wrong but you will have to deal with blasting loud music and he will SCREAM AT YOU AND TRAUMATIZE YOU if you dare move during any procedure. If you notice 5 star reviews on Google most of them are 1 review profiles. It doesn't matter if you're a good doctor being nasty to someone during a sensitive moment when your between their legs is TRAUMATIZING. Also it would be nice to give your patients a stress ball if your doing a procedure while they are awake!!!! Even the clinics in the worst areas will provide this. Have a heart!!!!!!!!!! Also if you're sick wear your mask, it's a medical setting not a bodega, have respect for others

I was not feeling comfortable about the situation and wanted to leave. They didn't do a procedure on me but I did talk to the doctor for 15 mins. I asked if I left without doing the procedure if I would be billed anything for that days visit and I was told no so decided to leave. They said I did not visit on Zocdoc either which I was ok with since they shouldn't pay the Zocdoc patient fee if I'm not charged. I then get a bill for hundreds of dollars though and when I called them they backtracked on what they said. So seems to me they evaded a Zocdoc fee and went back on their word and now my 15 min convo has cost hundreds. Lesson learned to not accept verbal answers but left me feeling like they care more about money than patients
When I visited him for an annual check-up, he ordered STD tests that I didn't request. He then charged me $300 for it and refused to give me a refund. When I contacted my insurance company, they said this was an "illegitimate practice" and removed the charge for me. Also, just found out Dr song sued his patient for defamation over her Yelp review? What she complained in it sounds pretty similar to my experience. Besides his so-called "illegitimate practice according to my insurance company", he also made me come back for the Pap results, which was totally unnecessary, which he also made her do the same, and spent 20 min for a chit-chat. During this visit, I was still blind-sided about the STD tests. All he said was "everything is fine." Then he talked about Steve Jobs movie for 20 min.
I went to see Dr Song for wax removal only. He puts a camera down my nose. Why? I just want the wax removed. $700.00 later. Never again. Money hungry.
This review is mostly about the environment of the office itself, and not about actual medical operations performed. When I entered this office, the first thing I noticed is that it really just seems like someone's apartment converted into a Doctor's office which is quite strange. The waiting room is the living area and where the doctor sits is where a home office would be. I felt uncomfortable upon arrival because of this, and the procedure room did not seem very soundproof or private. I was trying to figure out some insurance costs with a lady in the back, and she did not have a mask on and this is during the COVID pandemic. I decided to just leave after that since it was taking a while to figure out insurance and I already felt uncomfortable. There are many other OBGYN offices around the city, and I did not want to become tied to one where the environment felt so strange.
Goods and bads on both ends. It is kind of a mixed review though however I do appreciate the honest efforts and the good results from the treatments. He has improved a lot from the other star ratings except for something that happened with a miscommunication. I have some friends and family in the East Coast who all come here and love the work that Dr. Song puts in his duties daily. He is excellent after all, it is sort of mind tearing that other factors had to come into play. The office is so quiet and clean which I really love. I tried getting a friend to come here, however there appeared to be someone else on the telephone line who kept interrupting what I wanted to say. In a huff, I had to hang up in annoyance. This was merely a presentational issue, however this will only end on a loose end note here. I do give second chances after all, this is not the final game.
Very unprofessional. First he made fun of the size of my uterus, repeatedly laughing, saying it was so small. Then he kept telling me i didn't have much longer to be fertile, he said this many times, i had already told him i have no interest in children. Worst of all, when i was getting my IUD replaced he ripped it out of my uterus with no warning. It was extremely painful. Then he proceeded to yell at me to stay still. I was crying my eyes out, laying there with a strange man between my legs yelling at me. The nurse apologized when he left the room, she said she'd couldn't believe he did that. This doctor has terrible bedside manner, he is rude, ignores patients concerns, and downright dangerous during procedures.
Poor people skills. Too aggressive and also persuades unnecessary medical information for self gain. Does not care about the patient's health and well being.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
