List of Donald Sharman's Reviews
In March of 2020, while Dr. Sharman was myPCP I had incident of high systolic blood pressure. I had taken my blood pressure at the YMCA as I do three times a week when I exercise there. On this particular day my systolic BP was 198. My usual systolic BP is approximately 120 consistently. I went to the Harrison Hospital, Bremerton emergency room. I was put in a room and no one addressed the high blood pressure issue. They put a monitor on my finger. A social worker came into the room, I did not know why. I thought maybe it was standard procedure if you go into the emergency room. After looking at my discharge papers right on the front page it said "depression and suicidal ideation". I had been in the hospital in January with that admission. This time it was for high blood pressure. When released I was told to see Dr. Sharman immediately. I had two more appointments with dr. Sharman where he refused to address the high blood pressure incident. I was then expelled from his clinic.
My mother was a resident at Forest Ridge where Dr Sharman was the attending. This provider NEVER seen or evaluated my mom the 12 days that she was there. We called 911 and had my mom taken to the ER due to her declining health, yellow skin and bloated stomach. My mom was admitted to the ICU for 2 weeks before transferring to a medical floor. My mom passed a few weeks later. An investigation was opened and they found that my mom wasn’t the only one he hadn't seen or he was behind in seeing. The facility was fined and I was told he is no longer the attending at this facility. This doesn’t help the patients he neglected and the outcomes from negligence of this provider.
Waited for over a month for an appointment, staff wouldn't return calls, staff rude, Dr Sharman not good listener. Also not a good Dr to go to if you are disabled/handicapped, because even though you can't walk well, he suggests doing so anyway. Quick to assess bad things about you (lack of exercise, poor diet) but slow to suggest medication to help. Figures 99% of people don't need medication (all in their head).
I have no review because I left before I saw him. I read all the bad reviews here and scheduled an appointment anyway figuring people were just mean. Well, they are not mean, they are correct. I waited alone in a little room for over an hour before I walked out informing them I would find a new doctor.
A work-in appt. that received quick attention upon arrival and a thorough, unhurried examination with good follow-up and refills.
The worst Doctor I've ever been to. All that doctor can talk about is prescriptions.I have a horrible orthopedic problem but never was referred to one ,that is the only way to see an orthopedic doctor is by referral. Every time I went is was all about natural, sometimes that is not an option. So I say beware!!!!!!!
Dr. Sharman has been my physician for a number of years, but no longer. He does not have a warm "bedside manner" nor does he really communicate well. He runs blood work, orders bone density....EKG....carotid evaluation. But his manner is, "Would you like to take this medication?" I told him I'm not the doctor. Now, I have a much more important reason for not recommending him. I am diabetic. He put me on blood pressure medication years ago as a preventative to ward off problems for as long as possible because, "Diabetics ultimately develop high blood pressure and kidney disease." I learned in December that I'm at stage 3 kidney disease. Never was I told I had any problems developing nor did he refer me to a specialist or tell me I needed to see a nutritionist to discuss a kidney diet. I had no idea I was ever in State 1 or 2. When I asked what I could do he simply said, "...keep losing weight, keep your blood sugar low, exercise, monitor your blood pressure and get plenty of sleep." He commented that my issue was "mid range," not uncommon for a diabetic of 19 years. I recently have developed a lung problem and when the pulmonary doctor was having testing done, I learned that my creatinine level was too high for contrast to be used with a CT-Scan. That led me to doing a lot of research on kidney disease and creatinine. I am in shock. I have done a self referral to see a kidney doctor, and I hope he can help me; that it isn't too late.Don't see Dr. Sharman unless you are really healthy and okay with being in the dark much of the time.
Run!!!!!! This "doctor" wanted to cure my sleep apnea by putting a hole in my throat to get more air. His staff is unprofessional and rude at best. This one is dangerous!!!! I had 3 bulging discs in my lower back and he had the horrific attitude to tell me that the pain was in my head.
Sharman is not my doctor but I and several others who saw Dr. Butler before his leaving have inherited his service. Many of these patients have reported many violations of the Hippocratic Oath. Intimidation, refusing services, (prescriptions and critical medical tests) because “patient could not afford them if they can't pay him first”. He also retroactively (one month) released a patient to avoid the consequences of those decisions. All of these events are being collected, documented and will be reported to the state and the AMA.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
