My father has lived at this home almost 3 years. At our initial visit to the home, owner Daniela made 3 promises (menu planning/food options, transportation provided for medical appts. and staffing increasing based on needs), only to backpedal on all three later. These lies were some of the deciding factors as we searched for the right home for our father with dementia. Since moving in, staff turnover has been consistently frequentFor example, just in 2020 at least 8 caregivers were brought in and left, leaving more gaps in knowledge and more unknowns for us, unable to visit because of Covid 19. A house manager who lied to us about multiple issues and showed unprofessional behavior toward residents, staff and our family was fired, only to stay living in the upstairs of the house and come back into employment at this house and others within AFH.We have dealt with major gaps in communication and follow through with the main office. We have stayed positive. We have watched my father and others in the home have their social and movement needs ignored while staff sit on their phone. It has been very difficult to advocate for his care with AFH.Perhaps all adult family homes come with sacrifices in care levels and expectations. I can speak only to our experience here. But the work it takes merely to stay abreast of the changes in the home and advocate for my dad's care needs (which have never been fully met until now when he is under hospice care) has been exhaustive and heartbreaking.

I was very happy for the care that was given to my husband . His room was also clean and so were his cloths that he had on. Also then made sure he had his meals on time and gave him help if need with eating. He was very happy there in all the years he was a resident

Very friendly staff, clean and warm environment. My mom has lived at Burien Best Care for close to five years and we couldn't be happier.
