I was visiting family and unexpectedly needed to visit a Dr. I googled “walk-in” clinic near me and Columbia Valley came up. I contacted the front counter. I was shocked to hear they had an appt with Dr. Burnell in an HOUR! Where I am from, you wait in a walk-in for at least an hour so I was quite and very pleasantly surprised. Appointment- my appt was at 2:50, I was called back at exactly 2:50. The medical assistance was very nice and thorough getting my initial info since I was new patient. As soon as this segment was complete I waited no longer than 2 minutes for Dr. Burnell who was a breath of fresh air. I did not feel hurried or rushed and he listened to my “complaint” in its entirety. We had a good Q&A session and I felt heard. He had a good game plan moving forward & when I move back to the area I will seek him out for a full time GP. I was quite impressed with how thorough he was, he could have blown me off as a 1 time patient but he has now earned an entire family if he wants

observant - but having good observations deep in one's medical record is not good enough - must be there to help the patient in real time and to challenge what he sees as wrong, rather than just defer.
