I was referred to Dr. Backous by my previous specialist when my ear condition became more than he felt comfortable treating—and I respect that. Dr. Backous was undaunted, was completely comfortable with my situation and, after a few visits, felt my ear was stable enough to recommend a reconstructive surgery. I've lived with a damaged ear for decades and, having just gone through the surgery, I'm excited about the prospect of regaining a significant amount of hearing over the next year. I've seen a lot of ENTs. Dr. Backous and his team—particularly Dr. Lee—are the best. Not only do they have uncommon expertise, my experience has been that they truly care. I'm encouraged to ask questions; they answer thoughtfully, respectfully, and in plain English. And, truth be told, they seem just as excited as I am about my chance to hear better.

A successful cochlear implant procedure courtesy of a gifted surgeon. From the moment that I checked in, I was greeted cheerfully and treated courteously and respectfully. The staff are all compassionate, caring professionals. The pre-op visit with the anesthesiologist, Dr. Nguyen and the surgeons, Dr. Backous and Dr. Lee was a thorough review of the the operation and all of my questions and concerns were addressed. These positive encounters gave me even more confidence that I was getting the best care by the best specialist and his staff. I am so thankful that I was referred to Dr. Backous. I am 5 days post surgery and healing well. Looking forward to activation of the implant and hearing again. Thank you.

Following a Covid-19 infection, I lost hearing in my right ear. After a series of general practitioners and ENT specialists, I was referred to Dr. Backous. Earlier this morning I received a cochlear implant I was fortunate enough to have Dr Backous leading the show. That's right,earlier this morning. I cannot say I'm completely pain-free, but pretty close. His staff was funny, welcoming, and exceptionally professional. I would never wish this process on anyone, but if you find yourself in need, Dr. Backous, proliance surgeons, and all the staff are the way to go!

Amazing. Dr. Backous and his team are incredible. He was able to restore my hearing on par with my “good” ear. Very thankful for and amazed by his skills. 10/10 recommend.

Was in a huge hurry. Just wanted to see if he could get a second surgery out of me to fix my hearing, which I lost as a direct consequence of the surgery he performed. Very disappointing, to be honest.
