I LOVE DR.WAKELIN! But I dislike the facility he works for. Dr.W apparently isn't available for the foreseeable future. I try to get information on how to proceed with my care but all they can tell me is...well nothing...and that I can schedule with a Doctor who is filling in/Replacing him. You give a clinic full access to your personal information, they do invasive procedures, prescribe biologic medications, bill your insurance 10's of thousands of dollars...but they are tight lipped when it comes to letting you know when you can see your doctor again? If it is a personal matter for Dr.W I don't want to know the details. But it would be nice to get a yes or a no on if he is going to return at all to the clinic. I have gotten mixed answers from the clinic so at this point he may have been fired...he may return...nobody knows.

Oh! I love Dr. Wakelin. Why? Because he is knowledgeable, respected, understanding, kind, caring and a little funny. He has a way of making you feel comfortable, heard and expertly informed in words I find easy to understand. Most of all I love his friendliness. I have many doctors but Dr. Wakelin is my most favorite.

Do not have a colonoscopy there. My colonoscopy was billed as outpatient rather than preventative resulting in the insurance company not paying very much. I was required to have it and was left with a 1,500 bill. Spent over an hour on hold, six transfers, four calls and they won't correct it. The Clinic has no billing advocate.

Dr. Wakelin performed my colonoscopy in outpt at Skagit Regional Medical Ctr in Mt Vernon. This was my third colonoscopy, first by him. He was timely and the staff he worked with, the nurses and anesthesiologist, are all knowledgeable and compassionate- topnotch. He shared the results with me clearly and asked if I had any questions. I will certainly choose him and Skagit hospital 5 years from now for my next procedure and would feel comfortable depending on him for any serious gastroenterological problem. Awesome!

First saw Dr. Wakelin during an ER visit. he was the one who finally diagnosed my 6 week illness as UC. He has always been concerned about how I'm doing and encouraged me to do the proper things with self-care and diet to make living with this chronic illness as tolerable as it can be.

Zero time for discussing the main reason for the visit; he didn't ask why I was there. Bedside mannerism was not what I look for in a doctor. Information presented to me was very blurry and skeptical regarding accuracy. Call back from assistant with results was less than desirable....she didn't know what she was calling about and told me to "google it in". I won't be returning to this doctor.
