Silver Lake Dental Arts's Online Review Report Card

I went to Silver Lake Dental Arts for two years as my GEHA in-network provider and was happy with their service. Unfortunately, I experienced a very bad business practice this year and I feel it is important to warn prospective new patients. I went to my cleaning appointment in January and I asked Paula at the front desk if my dental insurance was still good and she said "all good." She never mentioned that they were no longer "in-network" for GEHA since the beginning of the year. Then my husband had his cleaning in March. At that time we received claim information from our insurance company showing our expenses were dramatically higher than we expected. We called GEHA and found out our dentist was no longer in-network as of January. According to our insurance company, it is common courtesy to inform patients that they are now out of network for your insurance. Apparently, common courtesy and looking out for your customers does not apply here. If you don’t pay attention, when the bills come much later, you just have to pay them without your insurance coverage. When I went for my last appointment in May for two small fillings (we had not found a new dentist yet) Paula asked me to pay all previous charges plus today’s charges, which were out of network fees. I paid the charges and asked her "are we paid in full" and she said yes. One month later, I received another $442 charge. I talked to Paula, Cindy and the owner Dr. Samia. They all told me that the $442 was additional charges that our insurance didn't cover and reiterated that it is not their responsibility to let me know that they were no longer in-network for GEHA. Lesson learned... call your insurance company at the beginning of each year to ensure your dentist is still "in-network."

I’ve been going to Silver Lake Dental Arts for about two years now, and every visit has been excellent. Today I had my cleaning done by Teresa, and she was fantastic. She was warm, professional, and very thorough, while still being gentle. My teeth feel and look great, and she made the whole process comfortable from start to finish. Teresa took the time to explain things and made sure I was at ease throughout the appointment. I’ve always had a great experience at this practice, and Teresa really reinforced why I continue to come back. Highly recommend Silver Lake Dental Arts, and especially Teresa, for anyone looking for a caring and skilled dental team!

Kindness, most down to earth relatable and professional. I have been going there for over 35 years. In fact my whole family has. They are very organized and accommodating. Highly recommended.

I have been going to Silver Lake Dental Arts for many years and they are the best! A huge shout out to Dr. Samia, Paula, and all the wonderful staff that make my appointments flow smoothly! I've been going here for years but last year I had 2 fillings fail and Dr. Fanger refused to repair them for free. Dr. Fanger and staff claimed they weren't failed fillings. Even though one fell completely out and other the top half crumbled. Also I had my worst dental experience in my life here when Dr. Fanger dropped a cotton roll down my throat and I choked on it for a long time till he could pull it out. They told me and insurance they needed to be upgraded to crowns and I would need to pay full price again. The front desk says Dr. fanger left but I haven't had my failed fillings resolved. The dental office owner will only credit me for 1 damaged filling and expects me to pay for a crown I now need due to the failed filling.

Fun and dentistry are seldom used in the same sentence but this place is the exception. Long term employees, positive, friendly, caring and professional environment.
