List of Jose Mendoza's Reviews
The office staff went out of their way to get my children in with a last minute phone call for a appointment. The office is very clean and private. Candy and the office staff greet you with a friendly smile and do their best to make the visit go smooth and efficient. My children love Dr Mendoza he is friendly and the last of the doctors that don't make you wait and give you their full attention as long as it takes to help your children. I can't say enough they deserve ten stars.
Dr.Mendoza has been my family's pediatrician for over 18 years. He is an amazing neonatologist pediatrician. All of my daughter was born at 28 weeks his expertise & compassion made the NICU experience bearable. He made sure to check in with me weekly and he would visit my daughter daily throughout her hospital stay. I can't put to words what his support during such a scary time meant to my family & I. The front office is amazing! Candy is always so professional & sweet. She always gets it done. Daisy is always so patient & kind. I would highly recommend Dr.Mendoza's practice.
My kids used to come here. Rude doctor it's his way or get out of his office, he refused to prescribe medication for molluscum contagiosum with one of my kids because he said it would go away on its own. It didn't go away it spread in outbreak with my other two kids. My daughter turned out to have a lot of Gastro intestinal problems, that he refused to acknowledge. I wouldn't recommend him.
I’m giving this review a 1 star because I can’t do no stars and because Dr Mendoza has been an amazing to all my kids. His staff however.. I wish I could say all the times I’ve had issues with them but it would take me all day. The staff at Pediatric NW are super rude and will pretty much call you a liar even when you have proof of what you’re saying. I called in several times for a school letter I needed and almost three weeks later, I finally got it. I had to leave work early on two different occasions and take the day off on the other just to come in person. Every time I called, they kept adding a day to the deadline for when they needed to have the letter done “by law” I called on the 23rd of August and have been calling every other day pretty much since and up until today, I got it as soon as I walked in there asking to speak to Dr Mendoza. They guy at the front desk was very rude and unprofessional and would call him and said; you know, he’s very, very busy. I’ll let him know you’re waiting for him. But after sitting down, he never went to tell him I was in the lobby waiting. There’s no need for me or any parent to leave work early or take days off for something requested almost three weeks prior. And there’s no reason for the front desk people to take things personal and get confrontational with patients. I have never seen that elsewhere. Hence why I don’t like going there much. Then when I do Dr asks why I haven’t been in for so long.. I’ve asked over the phone and in person to speak with him and till this day, I have not. Maybe it’s time to move on and take my kids to a different clinic where they do care about their patients and their needs.
Dr Mendoza Is a wonderful Dr. He truly cares for his patients. He saw my 2 daughters and now sees my premature granddaughter. Dr Mendoza has always answered all my questions and taken great care of my children. You can also leave a message with his office with a concern and he will always call you back. I highly recommend Dr Mendoza.
Dr. Mendoza is a horrible doctor and he should just retire. Let me start with my older sister. He did not know she had Leukemia after several visits to the doctor about her health and never ordered blood work to be done. Luckily after 5 years of chemotherapy, she's alive and well. This doctor looks down on you and gets upset if you ask questions. My son is autistic and when I first suspected this, I told him that I think my son is autistic. He got extremely upset and told me to stop diagnosing my son and that I'm not a professional. He suggested I did better things to get my son to talk and eat different foods. When my son turned 3, I took him to get tested at a school and it turned out that I was right. My son was in fact autistic and if I would have had him diagnosed at an earlier age, he would have been able to get the help he needed earlier. Then at the age of 4, my son kept getting sick and Dr. Mendoza would refuse to give him any medication and I would practically beg him to prescribe him something. My son got so sick that I took him to the hospital and they did x-rays which showed that my son had pneumonia. He was about to die and Children's Memorial Hospital urged me to changed doctors because this could have been prevented. Luckily, surgeons said that the medication was working for my son and he threw up most of the phlegm and did not need the surgery anymore. Doctors told me that this happened because my son was not treated properly by his doctor. While I was looking for a new doctor for a year, my daughter got sick and Dr. Mendoza kept giving her antibiotic after antibiotic until he confessed that he did not know what was wrong with my daughter. I took her to the hospital and it turned out she had a respiratory infection. I asked Dr. mendoza beforehand if I should take her to the hospital and he said no. Also, when my daughter was about 6 months old, she developed a rash on her face only after giving her antibiotic and I called Dr. Mendoza and said that she's definitely not allergic after I asked him if it was an allergic reaction. Turns out that she was allergic to the antibiotic and the hospital treated my daughter. While he were there, I heard the couple next to us that their daughters doctor was also Dr. Jose Mendoza. It sounds like a lot of his patients go the the hospital due to his negligence. Dr. Mendoza has hanged up on me because he got annoyed that I was asking him questions about my son's fever and the next steps I should take. The next day his wife made him apologize to me. This doctor is petty and gets mad when you seek a second opinion and you should if he's your children's doctor for their safety. I now have a new doctor for my children and I'm happy to say that they are healthy and don't get sick as often because they're getting treated the way they're supposed to.
at a family gathering just this past weekend, one of my neices brought up doctor mendoza..everyone sat around the table and revisited our experiences throughout the years..so i decided to do a little investigating to see if dr mendoza is still practicing..i was delighted to see that not much has changed, you see,my oldest daughter just turned 40yrs old,my son and youngest daughter are now in her thirties!..and yes,he was there for all of them..neices,nephews and even my grandaughter who is now 21!..it was a blessing in disquise when my son kienan, and nephew, kyle, were side by side in the neonatal unit at long beach memorial and dr mendoza was assigned to their care..dr mendoza was there to take care of,nurture and watch as my children grew, even taking and returning plenty of late night and early morning phone calls..i can never thank him, candy or janet enough for becoming "family"!!!
He's a really good doctor but they never answer the phone. I've been calling since 9am and the still have the answering service on and now it's 9:25.
The best pediatrician that I know here, I always been so grateful to find him. He is so kind, very patient, explain every thing so easy to understand. I have BCBS PPO and I had a lots of problem because of that with others doctors... when my daughter born A LOTS OF DOCTORS REFUSE HER, even one don't want to give her a necessary second vaccine and they reasons was "because they don't have it", but was a LIE, they give it to other baby's at the same day and time, I was so devastated because she was only a 3 months baby, Come on!!! A baby!!!! It was not fair!!!! I was desesperated cause she is my only and first child and I didn't know anybody's here or many doctors. Thanks god miraculously I found him. Find Doctor Mendoza was a relief, every time she is sick or I need him, I always can talk with him, he is always in the care of her and of her recovery, even on the phone, I always can find him, the nurses are very nice, his assistant is really sweet, the office is perfect. Everything is perfect. I feel very safe taking my daughter to his office with them. 10000000% recommended.
Dr Mendoza Best Pediatrician hands down. He's both my daughters Doctor and has been their doctor since they were born. He was at the hospital after both of my deliveries. He's HIGHLY recommended by the nurses at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, so far I'm very please with the level of care he's given both my little girls. The wait at his clinic isn't long. What impresses me about this clinic is when we call or visit they know who we are. Offering genuine compassion and understand. I had both my girls back to back therefore I'm essentially still a first time mom so at times I've called with questions, concerns and each time I call they're patient with me and forthcoming with guidance. I've called in a panic over a fever!! They helped me realize that every little thing doesn't warren a office visit. They understand. My sister also brings her daughter here and she's happy with their level of care as well. Parking: Available (FREE) right next to the building. Office: 2nd Floor ( Clean and kid friendly) Staff: Friendly (Bilingual) Dr Mendoza is bilingual as well. Tip: They only take PPO.
