As ESRD patient of Fresenius in Hawaii, I visited Washington for a kidney transplant work up at UW on Jan/2023. We requested (2-3months ahead) to avail a seat in one of the in center dialysis unit in Tacoma, prior to flying out of Maui. So.Tacoma clinic verbalized that they might have a seat for me, but it’ll be decided upon by their Medical Director, Dr. Kaptik.. she denied the treatment just one week before flying out to Washington. Denial reason was my “address while in Washington”, they based this on other patients history of not showing up due to the distance of the clinic to where patient lives. I find that this was very biased and unprofessional approach to deny anyone of this life saving treatment. Dr.Kaptik and her staff did not even verify if this was a legitimate issue for us, but yet proceeded on denial. I’m advocating for all other patients that may have been a recipient of this poorly executed process of medical service.
