Children's Therapy Center - Kent's Online Review Report Card

CTC has changed, not for the better, over the last 3 years. Misguided, inexperienced management led to a fiscal crisis and numerous layoffs of hard working providers. Families were not prepared for the upcoming loss of their providers because providers were let go, immediately, by phone call or an in person meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The whole premise of our home visiting service is to build trusting, positive, therapeutic relationships with our families. For this connection to be severed without an opportunity for closure between a trusted provider and a family is the antithesis of what CTC has stood for since 1979. Morale is very low and trust between staff and administration has been irreparably severed. Remaining providers are, of course, still dedicated to the relationships with the families they serve. However, to continue to work at CTC with the knowledge that the bottom line matters more than a the relationships between families and providers, is a discouraging burden to carry. The layoffs could have been handled in a more timely manner and with humanity for the families we serve and the employees who served with dedication. I apologize to all the families receiving a form letter that their provider has "moved on," with no further explanation given. Please know that your provider would have discussed an upcoming change in provider, and facilitated a smooth transition, if they had been given the opportunity to do so

This review is long overdue. We were referred here by my son's pediatrician due to some concerns about speech delay. He was 2 years old at the time so we had a speech therapist come to our house to do weekly sessions. Nahid was very patient and helped us with all the appointment coordination starting from intake, evaluation to dealing with insurance and post evaluation. Sarah was my son's speech therapist and we LOVED her so much. My son got super excited every time he knew that he was having speech therapy that day. Sarah was amazing with how she interacted and helped my son throughout the whole process. She was very professional and also treated us and our son with compassion and kindness. She gave us a lot of helpful tips on how to continue the work at home. My son can't stop talking anymore which is a product of his effective early intervention and speech therapy! Thank you Children's Therapy Center for your support! I am so happy that a place like you can help other kiddos out there.

Due to some concerns about my son Brysons development, I had him evaluated at 13 months. I did not need a referral, and I had an appointment within a week of calling in- the staff was incredibly kind and thorough in explaining my childs delays at that time, and the plan to progress forward, they even explained what our fee would be after insurance. During the year and 9 months that we received in home services, via Children’s therapy center, we were consistently amazed by the staff, their commitment to my sons learning, and their professionalism . The staff consistently set achievable goals for my son, and were consistent in challenging him to meet those goals. We also utilized the morning classes, where I again, was so amazed by the staff- they showed overwhelming patience and commitment to the children becoming acclimated and comfortable to a classroom setting, which was so important for my son who would soon be transitioning to care via the school district. Today, my son now speaks in small sentences, despite his ASD diagnosis- he has made incredible progress and thrives in his classroom, I believe a lot of that is owed to the staff at CTC. I have my 2 youngest children who attend Childrens therapy center and It has been so incredible. They have not only helped my children but help me learn ways to help my kids with their development. They are amazing and the most caring people I have ever met. I recommend them to everyone!!

The therapists are great. If your child is less than 3 years old, they come to your house, which is VERY convenient. Their suggestions are doable and they work with you at your speed and comfort level. They are advocates for your child and give the parents emotional support. The facilities at the CTC are child oriented and they accommodate all levels of special needs. Without their help, our child would not have progressed as much as he has. I highly recommend the CTC.
