This company has some awesome BCBAs who work hard to make sure kiddos have a sense of belonging here and are able to learn coping skills in a safe and loving environment, that will help them grow into themselves 💗
Muy recomendado un gran equipo de trabajo, muy profesionales lo recomiendo mucho..
Unfortunately our autistic son has been "terminated" from Step Up. I would absolutely advise anyone with a child with special needs, to stay away from this place. From back in March, we had issues from the very beginning. Erik very much only cares about the money side of the business, does not truly care about your kids wellbeing and the help they need. I was advised to switch insurances since they only accepted one. After doing the initial "evaluation" with Erik, we had come to an agreement that 4 days a week for our son would work perfectly as he was also in preschool at the time and already had a busy schedule. The first week starts, our son was sick the first two days with a constant runny nose and cough. Little did we know, we were already going to be hearing about that from Erik by the end of that week. Our schedule had been set up (in our minds) for four days a week so we did not bring him in that Friday. That Friday we hear from them that we did not bring him in for his schedule. Complete miscommunication between Erik, his employee, and us. We then speak to him about the miscommunication and explain that our son can only do the four days a week, that's our plan. He was hesitant to work with us, but we did agree that would work for the following weeks going forward. As our son ended preschool mid July, we were looking forward to giving him some more free time, along with his sessions at ABA, he got pretty comfortable with one of the caretakers there (Sangeetha) which happens to the main person we trusted and enjoyed working with our child. As the Fourth of July came around, we were ASKED if our son would be in attendance as they "didn't have the staff". He has missed days for being absolutely sick, doctor appointments, dentist appointments, and other family urgencies, it doesn't matter though. Erik would rather you bring your child sick, so that he's able to properly pay his employees and "keep the business running". He will advise you to still bring them in, as that's exactly what he voiced to us on the phone, "in my opinion, as a parent I would have made different decisions for my kid" is what he said to us. Also implied we were liars by saying "I get that your son was sick, is that's even true..." completely unprofessional opinions coming from the business owner. We then received a voicemail yesterday after picking him up from ABA, that he is no longer welcome and is terminated, he only had 2 weeks left of services. We will find our son a good therapy center that genuinely cares about the kid, not the money. I strongly advise you to take your kid elsewhere and we are so disappointed in the way this was handled. Hopefully huge improvements get made.
very grateful very good therapy gracias por todo
This organization's commitment to kids and families and their passion for helping children with autism is tremendous. Erik, the owner, is an advocate for kids - especially kids with disabilities. In the last year he has been putting everything he has into growing the field.
100 %recomendables, son muy profesionales y hemos tenido muchas mejoras en nuestro hijo. Muchas gracias, estamos muy contentos en mi familia. Bendiciones!
I highly recommend Step Up ABA for families with children on the autism spectrum. The staff is caring and knowledgeable. I've known the founders, Erik and Carolina, for more than 10 years now, and they are wonderful people who are deeply committed to their work and the families they serve. Their passion for helping children with autism is touching. Overall, a fantastic resource for families in the Seattle area seeking high-quality therapy!
I visited Step Up a few months ago and I honestly couldn’t decide if I wanted to leave a review but I know how important these are to any business. When I visited the owners were welcoming although it was very disorganized when we went to do the assessment Erick didn’t seem like he knew what he was doing. Was also very distracted and didn’t looked like he cared. All he kept saying is how Washington state insurance does not have good coverage for individuals needing ABA like in Colorado. He said but you don’t have to worry your son has private insurance automatic red flag for a business just looking to make quick money. In addition to this I saw one of the therapist snatching a toy from one child another child and say she had it first. This raised another major red flag if I was there and she did that I could not imagine when no parents are around. My son was diagnosed at a young age and I’ve been apart of a proper assessment and I can 100% say that this was not one which is why I decided to keep him home while I found a business that can offer the services he needs. I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone. Kids with autism need care and great attention which clearly won’t come from StepUp. Avoid if at all possible.
The staff at Step Up ABA are dedicated, understanding, and patient, the qualities that are most desired when working with youth on the spectrum. What these guys do is certainly not easy, but beyond rewarding with the results they produce. Education and understanding the spectrum is still in a very early stage and we have much to learn, and the more we all learn together, the more progress we can make thanks to Step up ABA.
I've been working with Erik (at Step Up ABA) and his team (one of my favorite therapists - Milena!) for years. As a neurodivergent psychologist that has also been trained for 2 decades in ABA therapy, I can say that I can safely refer my patients to Erik's team without any reservation and full confidence. Erik's team collaborates, communicates, and pivots their tailored care to not only embed what other providers (like myself) are providing as well as recommending, but also ensures parents are up-to-date and involved in ongoing and in-the-moment needs of a patient's care. His ethical approach is admirable as well as comforting, and the bedside manner of his team is palpable and adored. This company's team of providers has always been dedicated to delivering care that works for everyone and is rooted in evidenced-based care - which is no easy task considering how big some teams can be (including ones I have worked with them on). They provide in-home, in-community, and in-clinic care and set reasonable expectations for care. I highly recommend Erik's team and as the owner of Sandbox Therapy Group, I can confidently refer patients to Step Up ABA's trusted providers, as I have seen over the years they provide efficient and effective behavioral therapy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
