Would not recommend to anyone looking for quality orthopedic medical care.
I had a bulging disc between L4 and L5. He was to trim it in order to relieve the pain. I was left with a numb leg from the knee down. He told me he accidentally dropped a piece of the disc he'd trimmed off, into the spinal canal and had to move the spinal cord to one side in order to retrieve it. I continue to the pain in my lower back has never gone away. There's my sciatic nerve and into my leg. The numbness has never gone away. I used Williams in hopes he'd know what he was doing and I'd be better off. He obviously didn't know what he was doing. I'm worse off than before I had surgery. Beware.
Very rude and temperamental. Did not see it coming. To think he operates is scary.
One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a doctor. Bad communication skills. Denies the type of surgery requested the day of surgery and gives another graft not wanted. He used my hamstring to repair an acl when I wanted a patella graft to prevent muscular imbalances. To this day the muscular imbalance has caused pain and injuries to other areas of the posterior chain. Please do not continue to support and give this peace of work business.
Once again, my experience with Coastal Orthopedics was an excellent one. Dr. Williams and his staff always achieve excellence. That alone constitutes the reason why his patients will continue to experience the best outcome in their surgical procedures. Less than two weeks ago, I had surgery to manage and correct a painful situation with an ankle tendon. Now, my personal goal is to walk without the help of the crunches as soon as possible. With this surgeon's brilliant work and his extraordinary knowledge and skills, I can honestly say that I'm on my way to achieve my goal. All my best, Nunzia Stark
I have been coming here for over a year with a complaint of knee pain. I was told I had a torn meniscus, torn ACL and advanced arthritis. I was advised that “surgery to repair my meniscus was useless because my arthritis was too advanced and I needed to lose some weight”. Then I was advised that total knee replacement was my only option. I’m no doctor but that didn’t sound right to me so I asked about other options. I was grudgingly given other treatments such as, physical therapy and cortisone shots for about 8 months before finally getting meniscus surgery. And let me state that I had to demand the meniscus surgery. After speaking with my nephew, who had the same symptoms as I did, he told me the surgery was no big deal and it was crazy that the doctor didn’t schedule me to have it done when I was first diagnosed. My physical therapist and the doctor I saw for a second opinion stated the same thing. I’m still not sure why meniscus surgery was put off. After having meniscus surgery the pain still didn’t go away and range of motion wasn’t improved so I went back and requested gel injections. Was told “I need to lose at least 5 pounds and these injections probably wouldn’t work for me” but I was told by the P.A. she will submit approval for the injections to my insurance anyway. She didn’t, at least she didn’t until I called 2 months later to find out what the holdup was. I decided at this point to find another doctor. The new doctor didn’t agree with the diagnosis I was given while a patient at Coastal Orthopedic. And after just two visits with the new doctor I feel better and my pain is bearable. I feel that after a few more treatments I’ll be pain free. But, The final straw in leaving this review is that when I asked for my medical records from Coastal Orthopedic the staff went home and left me sitting in the office by myself. That’s right, I received a phone call letting me know my medical records were at the front desk for me to pick up. When I got to the office my records were not there, so, I was asked to have a seat and wait while they went off to find them. I waited for about 40 - 45 minutes, then went and walked around the entire back office only to discover the staff had gone home and left me there. Go ahead and laugh, but listen to my words, avoid this office like it’s Covid19! This office is beyond unorganized and inefficient and I have never been to a doctor, or met a staff, who are so uncaring. Do yourself a favor, call Dr Patterson instead and stay away from Coastal Orthopedic
What kind of business are you running that the office manager lies to their patients concerning her upcoming surgery? You open at 7:30 am everyday, yet I and my insurance called too! I called from 7:30 to almost 12 noon and all the calls went to the answering service! Why could I not talk to any of your staff? I know you are not all that busy to take my call. I am very upset and wonder if you know what the staff is doing but they are not taking any calls! This is ashame because I thought you were the best doctor for my surgery!
Upon my initial visit, Dr. Williams and his entire staff were kind, caring, compassionate and professional from the very start. I felt very comfortable the entire time that I was there and attended to at Coastal Orthopedics. Dr. Williams was thorough, and truly concerned about any pain that I had and what my needs were.
I have had two surgeries done by Dr. Williams in the past twenty years (rotater cuff, and knee replacement) and have had no problem with either. My shoulder and knee have been pain free since my surgeries. Dr. Williams does not try to force you to have a surgery. You actually have to convince him that you really are ready for one. Cool guy, and a great doctor.
Outstanding. I had an Achilles’ tendon repair. I was very pleased with care and whole experience

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
