When you are assigned an unknown (to you) physician on a weekend to do a urgent cholecystectomy, you are a little leery of that physician's reputation and capabilities. I was very pleasantly surprised with Dr. Hawkins. He was kind, caring, compassionate, funny, respectful and non-rushed. He took the time to draw pictures on a white board to explain the procedure he was going to perform and answered all my questions. Knowing that I was there alone, as we were about to roll into the OR, he asked me if there was anyone he could call for me after my procedure was completed. I was very impressed! And he did indeed call my family member when the surgery was done. What physician who has just performed three surgeries in a row late on a Saturday night while on call actually calls a family member for a patient, particularly in an age when customer service seems to have flown out the window? I give Dr. Hawkins 5 out of 5 stars and would definitely consult him in the future for any surgical needs that I, a family member or friend might have. Skagit Regional Clinics is very lucky to have him.

Dr Hawkins was thorough and easy to understand in his explanation of my diagnosis and what my options were, and he answered my questions honestly. His staff worked with me to schedule my out-patient surgery and listened to my needs and concerns.

Dr Hawkins is amazing! He is very caring, kind and honest. He explains in detail and you don't feel like he is leaving any info out. He is supportive and open to your thought and feelings. He doesn't make you feel rushed. You get the feeling you can ask him any questions, no matter how silly it might feel or if you already asked him last time but forgot, lol! I have not had surgery with him yet, but if I need any kind of surgery, it will be with him! I feel very fortunate to have found such a great person as my doctor and I highly recommend him!Also, Katie, the patient navigator is very helpful, caring and a great listener!
