Wonderful surgeon- when 4-5 surgeons in Portland, OR would not treat me; he was able to do the examination correctly, explained himself and rationale for doing the procedure, he took a video for helping me get PROPER treatment, and then sent the operative notes back to the PDX md’s that said I had a “sprained” wrist for over 365 days. I have had success since and was able to return to nursing.

Every day I have little "thanks to Dr Ericson" moments: opening a can, carrying too items at once, drinking from a large glass, holding a book to read to my kids, typing on a computer, writing with a pen, brushing my teeth. My thumbs no longer pop out many times a day. My 15+ years of wrist/thumb/palm pain is 90% gone (and the remaining 10% isn't Dr. Ericson fixable). He is an absolute joy to interact with. I enjoy his humor, patient stories, and ability to solve my hands/arms complex problems. The "Ericson Special" surgery took him 15-20 years to create, and is intense and fully worth it. I am thrilled that Dr Osteo joined him (also super nice) because it would be atrocious if he (ever) retires and no one continues this important life changing work. Yes he will be 1 hour "late" to your appointment and it is 100% worth it to wait (bring a book or earphones/movie)

Is there an amount of stars for solving a 15+ year problem that caused daily pain, inability to care for oneself properly, and feel defeated? Dr. Ericson created and completes a mastermind 6 to 18 mini surgeries in one fell swoop. All with humor, stories, and validation of suffering. It is a lot and entirely worth it to reduce hand/wrist/palm pain by 80-100%. After hearing "but your test is normal" countless times over the ears you will be shocked and validated by hearing how not normal your hands are when viewed by an expert in hypermobility. I love that someone hyperfocused on these issues for 30-40 years and created a real solution for us hypermobiles/EDSers!

Dr Ericson is extremely knowledgeable and kind. He seems dedicated to improving his technique (especially relating to hypermobile patients) and sharing his knowledge with other surgeons. I suffer from hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Hand surgery performed in my home state of Michigan failed. I traveled 2,000 miles to have Dr Ericson perform hand surgery, and it was well worth it.

Dr. Ericson is extremely professional, caring and listens to his patients. I had approximately 9 wrist surgeries prior to seeing Dr. Ericson and saw numerous hand surgeons~ Dr. Ericson thinks ‘outside of the box’ and includes his patients in the decision-making process. He is a phenomenal surgeon.

I have been seeing Dr. Erickson for several years and he has performed surgery on three separate occasions. The surgeries have all been very successful and have greatly increased my quality of life. He is a very talented doctor and surgeon plus he is a very nice, patient person. He takes all the time you need to understand what are your unique needs. I have recommended him to both family and friends.

Carpal tunnel, wrist and arm procedures have greatly improved my function. Also gained insight into my particular tendency to grow bone spurs.

Dr Ericson is absolutely the doctor you're looking for if you've been referred to him as I was. He is thorough and takes good time explaining what is going on with your condition and possible solutions. He's an excellent surgeon as well and continues to take he time with you throughout the whole process after surgery.

The best doctor I ever consulted with! Restored my faith in the medical profession, after dealing with so many incompetent doctors in the corporate medicine world. Owns his own practice and knows his stuff backwards and forwards.
