List of K. David Epley's Reviews
Went in to ask a few questions for a future appointment and ask for a mask since it was required. Front desk receptionist was rude and said if we didn't have an appointment currently that we'd have to leave and refused us a mask.
Agreed with another review. I was not warned by the office that this visit would be very expensive. My son's right eye does not have similar vision as the left eye. We saw the doctor for 15 minutes, and they billed insurance for up to 59 minutes at almost $1200. After insurance deductible is more than $500. Other offices would warn you before hand if this would be the case but not this office. Watch out.
Great ophthalmologist, terrible practice. We had been coming to Children's Eye Care (Dr. Epley's office) for years, and put up with the rude and frequently-confused front office staff, because Dr. Epley is indeed a good children's ophthalmologist. The front office has always been a mess, with hours-long waits, super short cancellations, and just general ineptitude. You can see that pattern in many of their reviews on Yelp and Google, but we plugged our nose and dealt with the terrible staff, like everyone else says. Today, we called to schedule our twins for a checkup, as always. The front office got very confused, and insisted that we needed to schedule the children on different days, because of COVID. They have a "one parent, one child" rule, which is obviously a very reasonable policy during a pandemic. My wife said she understood, and that I would come with our other child, wait in the car, and then swap - aligning with their policy, and making sure that no more than two of us would be in the building at any time. They had two back to back appointments available, so should be easy, right? This idea blew their minds. They had to get a manager on the phone, who stumbled through the policy a few times again. After I pointed out that there was indeed a way to make their policy work AND not require us to schedule on completely different days (using math), the manager stumbled around about how some people miss appointments, so they can't schedule families anymore (a new reason!). I think she realized she wasn't making sense, so she just started shouting at me that "...if I didn't like their policies I could...."So, we did. The new office is magical. Appointments on time, courteous staff who (gasp) treat you like a valued customer, a clear COVID policy that demonstrates they understand the disease, and appropriate prevention. Sad that it took a pandemic to make us find a better ophthalmology team, but let our loss be your gain!! You don't need to put up with the ineptitude of Children's Eye Care - there are MANY new options that are far superior in the greater Seattle area. From the look of the other reviews here and on Google for Children's Eye Care, I think it's obvious why.Avoid - you've been warned!!
Kind, caring and competent. Spends ample time with you to explain what is going on, engages with all questions and does not make you feel rushed. Have seen a number of pediatric ophthalmologists in the area and he is hands down the one we trust to care for our child. Yes, the fee schedule is quite high (higher than others), but I do not mind as my child's vision is priceless and parental peace of mind that you have an amazing provider on your kids team is well worth it.
Dr Epley listened and addressed our questions and concerns. However the fee schedule is extremely high. Beware if you go for anything other than routine eye exam. Anything else that might come up causes the visit to be billed extremely steep and is unlikely to be covered by insurance.Got another bill subsequently. Really annoyed at the practice.
Dr. Epley is amazing! He has performed 2 different surgeries on my son. And treated him for 3 swiper are eye conditions and he is great. Good with kids and great with parents. He is humble which can be hard to find in specialists.
Dr. Epley is a wonderful physician that performed ptosis surgery on my 7 year old. He did an excellent job, and you'd never know he had the surgery because his eyelids look symmetrical. His office is also fun and extremely kid friendly. His staff are all great as well! I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking care for their child.
Dr. Epley and Abbey are amazing! They are both so thorough and very good with children. My son had a surgery done with Dr. Epley to lift his eyelid. If you didn't know he had the surgery you would would never be able to tell. He was able to make his eyelid practically symmetrical with the other side. He did such an amazing job. He was also so great on the day of surgery at reassuring my son. His office is very kid friendly. Each room is themed which makes it fun for the kids. I would highly recommend Dr. Epley to anyone looking for an eye surgeon for their child!
Dr. Epley is a wonderful doctor. He is very patient with all my questions and really takes the time to listen to me. They have a wonderful waiting area for children and even a place to watch videos for the older kids. Their new office has really large patient rooms. I rarely have to wait long, which is one reason I continued with him. If you did have to wait the children have fun playing and the staff is very informative about the status.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
