Dr. Manik is knowledgeable, conscientious, and compassionate. He relies on research and facts to determine diagnosis and treatment. I appreciate that he looks up research and data during appointments, rather than just relying on memory or his first impression. He emphasizes self-care and lifestyle changes to improve outcomes, but he is not hesitant to prescribe medication. He makes referrals for diagnostic tests and to specialists when he believes there may be a benefit that makes the cost worthwhile. He is ethical and respectful.

Do not see this doctor. My daughter has been diagnosed for several things and this doctor completely ruled all of her diagnosis out the door. The doctors that diagnosed her to begin with are naval doctors, so the fact he decided to rule all of her symptoms out the door, bewilders me.

D. Manik treated my daughter at Duke this past week for the first time. Dr. Manik is one of the best doctors she has had (and she has had many through her numerous operations/emergencies). He has a great store of current medical knowledge in his head but he also knows how to treat people with patience and compassion. He has a great bedside manner and his unhurried demeanor made us feel like we were his only patients during our stay. Thank you Dr. Manik for diagnosing my daughter's medical emergency and helping us find the best way forward for her treatment!
