List of Jonathan Mendelsohn's Reviews
Dismissive, apathetic.
He is very arrogant. Doesn’t listen to what his patients have to say. Wouldn’t recommend him to anyone!
This office staff is stressful-doctor is often talking politics with the staff a when a person goes to the doctor, that kind of negative talk is the last thing you want to hear. It is extremely hard to get a prescription renewed. The pharmacy calls his office, they do not return the call. So I have to call the office and leave a message (I never get through to a nurse, always a recording) and remind them to call the pharmacy. His phone message says that they will respond to your message with in 48 hours, don’t believe it. They will not respond at all. If I call to talk to a nurse, I never receive a reply. The pharmacy said there have been constant changes in his office. I could say more, but will stop there. Very disappointed.
I first saw Dr. Mendelsohn in an emergency situation- which he correctly diagnosed what several other doctors had missed.. now My whole family sees him as our primary doctor! He doesn't grab the prescription pad as the first line of defense, which was important to me in our family doctor. He takes his time to evaluate the whole situation, discuss options, and come up with a plan of action. Can't recommend him highly enough!
We LOVE Dr. Mendelsohn! I'm quite persnickety about my doctors and was reticent to take my elderly dad to a family practice doctor rather than an internist or gerontologist. I was dead-wrong! Dr. Mendelsohn is brilliant, insightful, highly skilled, knowledgeable, and has wonderful, lovely common sense. He is one of those people who are just tuned-in and always "on" - high energy, cheerful, empathetic - lovely, lovely man and highly skilled doctor. My dad is 98 now; he's been seeing Dr. Mendelsohn since the Poulsbo office lost their internist. I quickly saw that he was exactly what we needed. He has provided excellent care and put the brakes on tests that another doctor recommended for Dad that were unpleasant and pointless. Dad is doing great and loves his doctor. ALSO - Dr. Mendelsohn is VERY good at steroid injections for carpal tunnel - spared me months of agony whilst waiting for surgery. He said "I love doing this." It shows! I highly recommend Dr. Mendelsohn.

I went to urgent care when, unfortunately, Dr. Mendelsohn, was on shift. I had a brutal cough, fever, and was starting to cough up blood. He spent less than 5 minutes with me, didn't do an x-ray, and kept telling me that the blood was 'from coughing too hard' despite the fact that I insisted it was significant amounts and presenting apart from anything else I was coughing up. He would not listen and sent me on my way. Two days later I was diagnosed with advanced pneumonia.
Simply put, Dr. Mendelsohn is excellent.
Dr. Mendelsohn listens to his patients & involves his patients in healthcare decisions. He is relentless in exploring treatments for difficult issues, & solved a puzzling medical concern for me. He is very friendly, amicable. In addition to being very competent, he Demonstrates empathy & compassion or his patients & their family. Represents the best kind of family practioner.
I saw Dr. Mendelsohn three times, each time it was a horrible experience I will never forget. The last time I saw him he was working in Poulsbo Doctors Clinic Urgent Care and my Dr. sent me to him because my bp was extremely high, I was really dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. After making me wait in the room for thirty minutes, he came in and informed me that he was not going to waste any time on me and told me my Dr. should have called 911 instead of sending me back there to him, even though he did not see me I can guarantee he still charged my insurance each time I was in his office. I had to have the people at the front desk to call 911 for me. On my way to the hospital I had a massive stroke. I am still having problems because of that. Another incident with him, a friend of mine have stage four cancer and diabetes. He went to Dr. Mendelsohn to establish care for a primary care dr. He seen him once for less than five minutes and told him to come back in six months. When he called him to get his prescriptions filled for his diabete meds, he refused to call them in and said he did not think he needed them. If you value your life, PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE do not go to this dr because he does not value people lives (or maybe it was just us). You can roll the dice and make that gamble if you want. People that don't care about people should not be in this line of work.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
