List of Matthew Johnson's Reviews
Dr. Johnson and his staff are efficient and caring. He has been our doctor since 2018. Did our annual check ups and has referred me to specialist as needed. My husband is a type2 diabetic and Dr. Johnson’s care for him has been efficient and timely. His staff are also efficient, professional and remind us when we need to follow-up.
Dr. Johnson was prescribing a different antidepressant from the one I was taking, moving from an SSRI to Wellbutrin (an atypical, NDRI, but at the time I didn't know that). He claimed that both were SSRIs and I could do a direct switch, so I followed his instructions and dealt with SSRI withdrawl symptoms for a 4 days until I started researching what was happening. He continued to claim that Wellbutrin is an SSRI, which if you ask any medical professional, or consult any medical information, you will find is false. The proper method is a taper or cross-taper. He needs to be held accountable for his lack of knowledge. I WOULD NOT TRUST DR. JOHNSON WITH PRESCRIBING ANY MEDICATION. Be warned.
If I could give 0 I would. This staff is unprofessional, unkind, and has zero thought to patients well being. I sent my husband to this horrid place BECAUSE they seemed to be taking new patients. We are new to this region. He was treated like cattle, insurance way overcharged, no questioned asked by dr. Johnson, he should be considered Lower case because he has not behaved any where near what someone deserving of DR. Should. Staff annoyed, couldn’t be bothered, suggested trying “somewhere else” while this is supposed to be his primary care( and has a heart condition) New to the area, lesson learned. This office is equivalent to the deer droppings in my yard.
Dr’s assistant called and said there was a mix up on blood work prior to surgery. Sorry, come back in, no appointments necessary. I did within 48 hrs. 8 am sharp when lab opens… 50 minutes later… the lab has no orders… doesn’t know why im there… wait some more… they finally draw blood but still ( they) don’t know exactly what to check for. So don’t trust the Drs Clinic prior to surgery if your life depends on it. Or your schedule… So disorganized.
Dr. Johnson has been my primary care doctor for about 5 years. I have full trust in his care. He’s an excellent diagnostician as he takes the time to listen. His referrals to specialists when needed are always right on target. An added bonus is that he’s just a really nice guy!
I highly recommend Dr Johnson. Such a great doctor. I've had a few doctors literally make me cry in the office. It's so important to have a doctor who is willing to *actually* listen to what you have to say. Very kind, very personable and more than capable doctor; Dr Johnson. He isn't an idiot and definitely is not a pill pusher. Dr Johnson is a great physician I feel fortunate enough to have as my general practitioner.
The office staff is one of the worst I've experienced. I have dual insurance and the front desk was refusing me to see the doctor for my scheduled appointment because I had an outstanding bill of less than 60 days. Their billing department is also one of the worse as they failed to bill my insurance and was making excuses that it was my fault and my insurance was cancelled. None of this was true as I have insurance through the Veterans Administration and in my case it does not expire. I have had some serious health issues that three other doctors have been unable to diagnose. At my first appointment with Dr. Johnson, he accurately diagnosed my problem and referred me to a general surgeon. I credit Dr. Johnson for listening to my problem. He and the surgeon saved my life and the agony of pain I had experienced for the last ten months. Without Dr. Johnson and the surgery I would not been able to write this review today.
Dr. Johnson seems fairly competent but has no personality and doesn't seem to like the elderly. I have had my mother in his office numerous times and he never once have I seen him touch her or even try to talk to her. She has alzheimers but he could at least try to communicate. He will sit behind the computer, ask me questions and make his diagnosis. The office seems unorganized. Instead of having the folder up front when we walk in they have to find it. I am not impressed and have not recommended the doctor or the office to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
