Keith Gautreaux's Online Review Report Card

As an engineer and a child of a doctor, I find Dr. Gautreaux very informative and always rooting his decisions regarding my or our child's care in FACTS. I love this about him, and find him to not only be extremely well informed but also very humble when he doesn't know something in saying he will research it and get back to us ASAP. Keith is genuine and work hard to make sure you get the best care. He is also very much invested in his patients health.

In my experience with Dr. Gautreaux as my physician, he is extremely dedicate to healing and ensuring the well being of others. He is an extremely sharp physician with an abundance of practical medical knowledge and experience. I have always found him to be caring and passionate in resolving my medical needs. He has always helped me when I needed medical help or advice, and he is a physician who deeply cares about people getting well. It is with reservation that I would recommend Dr. Gautreaux to any person who need sound medical assistance; and Dr. Gautreaux is a rare medical find..

Rude, unprofessional, no empathy, and condescending. Quick to dismiss your problems.

Arrogant and condescending. Also really quick to tell you "your overreacting". Wins the least empathetic doctor award. Also know that he told a friend to just quit his job because of his restrictions. 0/10.

I like him fine. I never found him to be condescending? he's not therre now anyway.

Found this doctor condescending with little to no compassion. Wife had same experience. He was apologizing for being "condescending" to my wife. This is something a doctor should never have to do. The rest of of the staff at the clinic as of 12/11/2017 is amazing - can't say enough about the quality of care. I will continue to go to the clinic, but no one in my family will see him ever again.

I have never been disrespected my whole life until i met this arrogant doctor. I wont be coming back for sure. I even told everyone i know about my experience with him. Terrible doctor.

I arose one Saturday morning with acute severe lower abdominal pain and rather than going to the ER, I went in to Pullman Family Medicine to Dr. Gautreaux since my regular PCP was not working that day. Despite the fact that I was doubled over in pain, my wait time was about 20 minutes after my appointment. As I work in health care, I understand that sometimes it is very difficult to keep a schedule running on Saturdays as well as the fact that there are often external factors that affect scheduling. When I finally got back to the exam room, I realized that the largest reason that the schedule was not on time was probably Dr. Gautreaux. I have never seen another doctor that rambled on in such a pointless and repetitive fashion. He seemed completely lost as to what was causing my pain and aimlessly ordered some lab tests and proceeded to tergiversate about what could be causing my pain without truly addressing all of the symptoms. I returned to the office for some blood work and after this was normal, he sent me for an ultrasound where the findings were significant for a benign tumor. Although it was benign, it was in a location that could affect my ability to have children. Two days after the testing, I received a call from a nurse at the practice who essentially read off the same report that was available to me online. When I had questions regarding how I should proceed, she was unable to answer those questions as Dr. Gautreaux did not add any notes regarding follow-up treatment for her to impart to me. I insisted that I speak with him regarding how I should proceed next or how concerned I should be about this growth. The only note was that I receive a CT scan on top of the first ultrasound. I had this testing done and wanted to discuss the results of this as it showed multiple tumors and an abnormal liver finding. He would not speak with me unless I scheduled an office visit (with yet another fee) JUST for a discussion. I was livid! Not only was I presented with terrifying findings, but I also was not able to touch base with him directly. I set up an appointment with a RN who has very kind and she was appalled that he had not contacted me directly or explained these VERY expensive tests that he ordered for me. Only after voicing my outrage did he call me back and I explained to him how upset I was. He apologized and didn’t even realize that his behavior would have been upsetting to me. I told him that it was very disrespectful to treat someone this way and told him that I would never see him again and that he should really re-evaluate his demeanor as a practitioner. Luckily, he did honor my request to be referred to an OB/GYN who fully took time to listen to me and performed my surgery on a tumor that was one of the largest of its type that he has seen. He also told me that the CT scan was entirely unnecessary and he was surprised that it took so much time and testing in order to offer me relief. As a practitioner, I would never refer my patients for testing and not call them personally. I suppose the the portion of the Hippocratic oath that states “I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug” must have been forgotten by Dr. Gautreaux.
