Great. He took time to thoroughly exam my husband, then showed on a model what the problem was. He explained the surgery thoroughly. Very congenial; very professional.

Dr Chen has done great work on my neck hope for continuing success on the rest of my spine 😀

This calling himself “a doctor” has nothing close to do with this profession. He treats you as a piece of meat. He’s so careless, never answers any questions, gives you attitude if you risk to ask one about your health, and spends 5 minutes max with you. He doesn’t even care to listen you, and constantly making facial expressions like he’s making a favor to even seeing you. He hates people in general and patients in particular, especially if he’s see no money interest.

Prior to care Dr Chen seemed available and caring after the surgery, There was zero aftercare, completely incompetent staff telling contradictory care steps. Unable to schedule with Dr Chen anymore but just a nurse and nobody will respond to care questions. Given a survey monkey app that asks questions that are generic and made to sell back to medical devise manufacturers not provide any kind of quality care. I would not recommend using Dr Chen or any MultiCare facility for your care as they are uncaring and incompetent.

Dr Chen did a good job in surgery and the team was helpful pre-surgery. After the surgery however, I was told conflicting drastically different information, could not get responses to any questions, could not get scheduled back with Dr Chen or the PA but given to a nurse that has no idea what is going on and still does not respond to any messages. The worst care ever and the most incompetently run office I ever had to suffer through. I would never return to MultiCare or Dr Chen again.

I had spinal laminectomy surgery on Jan 6, 2022 I was in and out of ER due to I could not walk or stand Dr.Chen was kind to move my appointment up 3 week to get me into see him I saw him on Jan 5,2022 and had surgery 24 hours late. It was a rough 7 week recovery but Dr.Chen and his team Marvin was right there to help me. I would totally recommend Dr.Chen, he knows his stuff and Dr.Chen Ma-Julie is amazing and fast to get back to you.

Don’t go to this doctor. I had exactly same experience as Melissa’s husband review. He wouldn’t help you at all and he doesn’t not care about people. The only thing he care if he earn or not money on you. If you need real help go to different more thoughtful and caring provider.

Excellent! Surgeons are super busy...I get that. Dr. Chen was patient with me even though I was referred to him by mistake. He took the time anyway to figure which type of MD specialist too see and referred me. Don't hesitate to see him.

My husband went here for back pain that he has had for 2 years. He had a MRI which his dr said looked bad for someone his age. She said that there was possibly a shot he can get through orthopedics and referred him to dr Chen. My husband waited about 45 mins to see him. Finally when dr chen came in with his medical scribe, he only spent about 5 mins and told him he doesn't see anything wrong other than a little bulge and that there was nothing he could do for him. His scribe was also silently laughing where the dr couldn't see. It made my husband feel like they thought he was lying. He is in loads of pain. This "Dr" has no empathy whatsoever and offered him no help! I wish my husband got the care that the people did that left good reviews. I would leave zero stars but you have to pick one unfortunately. My husband was treated like a number and not a person. Maybe this dr should go into the profession of computers instead where he doesn't have to work with people!

Awsome Doctor one of a kind...He really cares about how your bone health is ! I personally know he cares cause he cared about me 🙂
