I've seen Calvin several times now and feel he is beginning to truly seeing me as an individual who is aware of and understands my own health issues and my medications. In my long experience with medical personnel, I have found these skills need to be proven before I am accepted as a knowledgeable person. I still find younger care providers don't completely 'get' the needs of an older person. They are quite different and separate from younger & middle age patients. To some degree it's a matter of education which, IMO, should be provided to direct care personnel. I also believe it is my responsibility to educate my pcp, especially, as to how I expect to be treated. I'm definitely more comfortable in my relationship with Calvin and believe good rapport is being established.

He is my new provider since my previous one left this particular office. He had my records available and provided the information on a medication I declined to continue so that I can consider trying it again. He was very helpful and follow up appt is in 3 mo.
