I really wanted to like the salon but the experience I had there left me feeling taken advantage of and scared. I called for an appointment to get a hair cut and blow dry because my maternity leave was over and I wanted to do something nice for myself before starting work. When I arrived the hair stylist wasn't there yet so the shampoo girl took me to wash my hair. There was another lady there who stood over me watching but did not say a single word to me, it was a very strange experience. The hair washing girl asked me why I was there and I said I just had a baby and I'm going back to work next week this is my first time doing something by myself. I am a ver small person and I had a hard time sitting in the washing chair so I usually sit on my knees to reach. I made a joke about being too short and the washing girl took it offensively, she lectured me about her family member who is under 4' and how I shouldn't make jokes like that which aren't inclusive. I told her I am also a little person maybe not as small as your family but still much smaller than anyone of average height she ignored this and was rude the rest of the time. She made me very uneasy and spent the whole time she was washing my hair talking about her family issues, diversity and other things which I'm glad she cared about but I just wanted some time for myself to relax, I would have appreciated some more kind treatment and light conversation. She continued to look at my hair and tell me it's thin and I'm going bald and she had to use special shampoo so it won't break. When the stylist came in she proceeded to tell me that I have alopecia and needed a $200 treatment, she did a bunch of stuff and made me sit under a laser. She showed me a picture of my scalp before and after claiming to see a big difference. I did not notice any difference. She then told me I needed to buy $150 worth of hair products to regrow my hair and come for treatment every two weeks. I told her I can't afford this so she said it's ok come once a month. I felt awful and was terrified that I'm going bald so I agreed because I just wanted to leave. I spent over $500 at this place because they took advantage of my postpartum fear and natural hair loss just to make money. I also lost another $100 because I had to pay a babysitter and she stayed longer because they kept me there to do all these extra treatments. I was so scared I made a doctor appointment that day to check to see if I'm healthy. My doctor did extensive blood work and a check up and the results were that I'm perfectly healthy, most women loose a lot of hair in postpartum and it will grow back. If you decide to go to this place I recommend you be very careful that they are trying to just sell you on treatments and don't actually care about your well being.

Before this place I had given up about my hair. My hair was severely damaged and were unhealthy. Since I found this place in April My hair is recovering Very well. It looks healthy And my bold spots are growing again. I am so glad I found this place. Because of Mini and her team I am not loving my hair. This place gave my confidence back.

I took my 10 years old daughter to do her hair, she washed and flat iron her hair then she charged me 120 dollars, usually it cost 40-60 dollars. I even used my own product. The owner didn’t even tell me the price in advance, she is rip off, she is not friendly, she has poor customer service, I had a bad experience, she is terrible!

Winni is the one who did my hair, she is absolutely amazing. I did a crochet, she is very fast I finished with out knowing she’s done. All the staff is very friendly. The place is very clean with a very calming atmosphere. Loved my experience there I will definitely go back again.

The Manager was beyond wonderful & l was blessed to of found this place. I needed a simple haircut & ended up finding someone who made my scalp look Better than it has in Many Years! Psoriasis is so embarrassing, always having dandruff-looking white flakes in my hair. Very genuine & passionate about helping others, truly a blessing & now someone l can confidently trust with my scalp & hair condition! Thank You Jesus! Amen!

Abyssinia was recommended to me by a coworker when I mentioned I needed a haircut. I thought I was only going there once. I got a chance to talk to Miny about my hair problems. Miny introduced me to a hair treatment she offers at the Salon and I was quickly sold because of the difference I felt afterwards. This treatment really solved all my hair concerns in a matter of a couple of months which involved going to the Salon once a week for a month straight (lucky me because Miny is amazing) I recently went for another haircut with Miny, explained what I wanted out of the haircut and I couldn't be happier with my hair. The salon is ALWAYS clean, Miny always has a welcoming smile on her face and a great attitude towards everyone who comes in. I like to consider myself as a regular at Abyssinia now. I can't recommend this place enough.

I went to this salon because of all the good reviews. My hair is completely ruined. It isn't what I wanted. I showed them a picture of the cut and color I wanted and was very specific on how I wanted it and they took way to much off. My hair is so short. I wanted an even cut shoulder length and I can't even put my hair behind my ears. They also gave me uneven choppy bangs which I specifically did not want and my hair is 3 different lengths. So uneven, and I don't want to cut it any shorter or get it fixed because it's way too short already. They also charged me 100 more than the consultation price I'm not sure why, and you can't even tell that my hair has been dyed. I couldn't tell right away how uneven my hair was because they started curling my hair right away so I didn't notice until I washed my hair a couple of days later. On the right is the picture of the color that I wanted. I had long hair and didn't want that much cut off and on the left is my uneven hair that isn't even red. I was already blonde so it looks the same.
