Chantel Turner PA at valley medical center has been a God sent. So many doctors weren’t able to figure out my chronic nose issues. She looked outside the box and was able to figure out what the problem is and resolve my issue that I have been dealing with for years. Thank you!

Went to Valley Medical Center by Ambulance due to having an A-Fib event. I was admitted into the hospital unit on the 3rd floor, the room was small, needed painting and seemed depressing. In leaving the hospital, I received a huge bill due to a coding issue, which was coded as being in the hospital for observation rather than a serious health issue. in talking with the Valley Medical billing department, when asked why my hospital stay was not billed to my Medicare part A, the response was you were there for observation, which is not billable to Medicare. So Valley Medical is billing my private health insurance for more money than Medicare would pay them. I also found that during my observational stay, the wonderful medical team over looked that I had two broken ribs, which happened when I collapsed from the A-Fib. this has to be the worse place to go if you are needing hospitalization.

Came a week ago for the flu they said I was fine but I’m literally getting worse every day. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THERE PATIENTS I’m spitting blood now

Well I can say this is the WORST hospital I've ever been to! And I used to go out of my way to go here. I brought my husband in to be seen for major gastric distress. They took him back, made him wait for over an hour to be seen by a doctor. When the dr came in they went over a game plan and what was going to happen. My husband agreed and the dr left the room. 30 minutes later the nurse comes in, my husband thinking he was getting the iv and bloodwork they discussed was instead handed discharge paperwork. No follow up from the dr no instructions, no meds givin, no referrals no bloodwork no tests, nothing on his discharge paperwork other than the main follow up with you primary. Like what?!?!? What?!? What do we do?? What if it gets worse. Any remedy at home they could suggest?!? Like what???. My husband was so shocked he just walked out speechless. We will be following up with an advocate tomorrow. This just wasn't right. And I bet they will bill him for it too.

I went to valley medical to get my testicle checked because I was having an immense amount of pain and I couldnt walk. The doctors and nurses thought I was a drug seeker and would not help me. I went through a 3 month process of trying to get some help. I kept asking for some sort of muscle relaxers to help me walk and feel less pain. The doctors refused to help me just kept asking for more test without giving me any actual immediate help. 6 years later I still dont go to the doctors because I cant trust doctors anymore. And also I cant have kids due to the trauma I had dealt with for so long with no help. Eventually the pain stopped cause my testicle went completely numb. Thanks for nothing.

Black people beware the ER! Simply awful, unprofessional, and hostile experience at this hospital. My sick friend with a heart condition waited over an hour with extreme nausea before any nurse would see her. At hearing that my friend had been nauseous for hours, the unsympathetic nurse misunderstood and became argumentative and defensive saying that my friend hadn't "been at the hospital for hours", while rolling her eyes. The nurse should not be this way when patients are sharing important symptom duration information! It was only upon finding out that my friend was a prominent local educator that the staff stopped treating my frien as if she were drug seeking. I can't say it's because my friend is Black, but we suspect that is why she was treated so poorly initially. The floor in my friend's room was filthy. There was a "code red" out front that prevented security from checking in visitors for over 30 minutes. The person who checks in patients right next to the visitor check in (with no line) told us she could not serve as back up for checking in visitors and a long line of visitors developed. Insufficient backup for visitor check-ins; delayed, rude staff: dirty conditions, and poorly run. This hospital is the worst I've ever seen!

My experience in the ER at Valley Medical Center raised serious concerns about basic patient evaluation and stabilization. I arrived with severe anemia of unknown cause, along with tachycardia, very low blood pressure, heart palpitations, and significant dizziness. I told both the nurse and physician that my symptoms became much worse when standing, yet my blood pressure was only taken while I was lying down, and no orthostatic vitals were assessed or documented. The physician acknowledged that I was likely experiencing a slow internal bleed, but my evaluation felt minimal. An IV was started, yet no fluids were administered, which is a basic stabilizing measure when someone may be experiencing blood loss and symptomatic hypotension. Before my lab results had even returned, I was already being given discharge paperwork and a referral to gastroenterology, even though I was told the specialist would likely be booked weeks out. When my labs came back confirming significant anemia, I was still discharged despite remaining tachycardic, dizzy, and unable to safely drive myself home. Because I could not function, drive, or work in my condition, and had already been feeling unwell for several days, I had to strongly advocate for myself. After doing so, the physician returned and said a blood transfusion could be given. However, I was never given IV fluids, and no additional labs or diagnostic evaluation were ordered to explore the cause of the anemia or develop a meaningful differential diagnosis. At one point staff stated they did not want to order follow-up testing because they would then be “responsible for the results.” Hearing this in an emergency department was deeply concerning. What made the situation even more troubling was that the ER appeared empty that morning and I seemed to be the only patient present, yet basic evaluation and stabilization were still not provided. Emergency departments exist to evaluate and stabilize potentially serious conditions, and patients deserve safe, thorough care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Doctors and nurses are amazing.

So very disappointed in this place!! My sister went into the emergency room for getting too much salt in her system. The doctors told her that she was in the condition she was in because she had "shot up some fecal matter" My sister is 6 years clean and sober. SIX YEARS!!! She lives in an adult family home, doesn't really get visitors and no one else that lives there is/was an addict. She wasn't shooting anything. She's on dialysis and got too much salt intake but they treated her like trash because she had a history way back when! Shame on valley medical center and their staff! How about y'all try treating EVERYONE with dignity and respect! I'll never go there if I don't have to! Valley Medical Center.. you should be embarrassed! After reading through the other reviews.. I see this isn't an isolated incident! DO BETTER VALLEY!! 😒
