Benduan Yang's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Yang and Dr. Kracjer were kinder to me than many. None of the doctors I had (I had many 'ologists') figured out the issues I was having were prescription drug side-effects not systemic disease so they kept piling on more meds which could have killed me and it was years of literal torture. My life will never be the same. It took about five years being diagnosed with Lupus for anyone to figure it out, late summer of 2020. I never had Lupus but it was the scapegoat for all my issues those years. Dr. Yang was put in a difficult position with me because he and others were unable to recognize the symptoms of anticholinergic syndrome and then (June, 2020) my unusual response to head trauma. I feel like he tried which I cannot say for all the doctors, many of which gaslit me for getting worse like it was my fault, who contributed to years of debilitating pain and struggle. Thank you for at least treating me with some dignity.

Despite the good reviews, my experience with Dr. Yang was materially different. He was dismissive and unresponsive. The care plan was largely conducted by the primary care physician because of Dr. Yang’s cavalier attitude. It was noted by several physicians - including a neurology colleague of his - that his approach was inappropriate and outside the organization’s standard care protocols. I would not recommend him to anyone. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

After struggling for years with a headache disorder, Dr. Yang took a different approach to understanding my pain and for the first time in my life identified I have an actual nerve issue and not headache issue. He has helped my pain go from a 10 to manageable, and is also working with others to try to get permanent (surgical, etc) solutions. He is intuitive, cares, and even though I don't need to see him often, he makes sure I get the help I need when my disorder flares up.

Dr. Yang is empathic, observant, non-intrusive and sharp analytically. After a number of years in his care, I continue to feel seen and respected.

My internist referred me for neuro symptoms and I found Dr. Yang to be excellent. Very thorough, listened well, communicated clearly, very kind. Didn't just provide diagnosis, but he also explained the why of his diagnosis, showed me the issue on the MRI and explained why he had eliminated other potential maladies. While many other neurologists were booked out for months, I fortunately was able to get a new patient appointment with Dr. Yang within 10 days. He then ordered an MRI which was taken the next day and he saw me to report on the MRI, provide diagnose and advise on a plan the next day. His nurse, Kat, was also excellent. Everything about it was a very good experience. BTW, I've seen another review complaining because a referral was required to see Dr. Yang. In the Seattle area, I found a referral was required to see any neurologist as a new patient - so I would disregard that review.

I started feeling numbness in my calves and feet last year and was told that it was a medication side effect. When the meds were discontinued the numbness and excruciating nerve pain continued, I researched neurologists and found Dr Yang. He examined me thoroughly and found that I have a rare auto-immune disorder whic hattacks the nerves is mostly treated with steroids. Because he also has a degree in psychiatry he understood that I'm susceptible to mania from the steroids and recommended infusions instead. I use the Polyclinic's online messaging system whenever I have a question and he gets back to me right away even though it usually takes days to hear from my other practitioners.Special room in my heart for his very special right hand, Miss Katherine. She actually left her office to come visit with me during one of my infusions and I was so moved by how much she cares.... IF it wasn't for Dr Yang's thoroughness and knowledge I would still be suffering from the pain of neuropathy.

Every specialist requires a referral from a Primary Care Physician. This is how our health care system works in the United States. The person who wrote the bad review will find this at every facility with every doctor. I have epilepsy and I found that Dr. Yang was great. His was very informative and comfortable to talk to. I would recommend him to my child, mother, or friend!!!

The worst. Went in to see him for chronic migraines I was hospitalized for. He sat me in his office (which was dark...in case a patient had a migraine at the time, interesting). Then he asked a few questions and said there wasn't much he could do. He took notes with a steno pad and pen. I told him injectable medications were effective (per the hospital visit) and he prescribed them for me. A few months later the Rx was no longer valid and I'm chasing him down to try and get him to re-write one to tide me over until I go in for a (mandatory) f/u to see him again....which I've scheduled. The recep. said they'd call the Rx into the pharmacy. They didn't do it. Called back and was routed to some on-call Dr. who basically yelled at me and acted like he couldn't be bothered....He said he'd call it in, but only called in 1/2 of it-Since it's over $400 per fill, it pays to get the FULL Rx amt. Needless to say, in the midst of all these time sucking activities a migraine struck & I spent an entire day vomiting in the dark w/a strap wrapped around my head crying in pain. They all suck over there. What I call a WOT (waste of time).
