Run don’t walk if Dr Smyth is accepting new patients. I have a long list of family and friends who are waiting for her to accept new patients again after seeing my experience with her for the past few years. She’s absolutely incredible. She’s caring, attentive and understanding. I feel like every concern I’ve raised has been thoroughly addressed and nothing has been dismissed. I’ve been beyond impressed with the care I’ve received. She’s easily the best primary physician I've ever had. Her location isn’t ideal for me personally and yet I would drive 10x the distance to see her. Can’t say enough great things about Dr Smyth!!!

She’s a great provider, very willing to listen, always a fast response through MyChart, pleasant & knowledgeable assistant.

She has been my doctor and the doctor of various members of my family for going on 20 years. She is fabulous. She always has time to LISTEN.

I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Smyth. I went in the end of May with some, i thought, minor symptoms. She immediately got me in for an ultrasound the next day. The following week i was having a mri and blood tests and within another day meeting with a fabulous surgeon/oncologist. She and her office made it all happen. Her nurse has continually followed up with me to make sure everything is on track. Upshot, i have stage one ovarian cancer which is quite curable, rather than stage 3 or 4. Thank you Dr Smyth!

Dr Smyth is awful- I asked for an off the record conversation and she agreed and then turned around and wrote it all in my record- She refuses to change it even though she admits is was off the record- some of the information is made up (ie- wrong). She is just an abusive high handed person- the kind of doctor that thinks she is above you, the client who is paying her. She has left me no choice but to get an attorney involved because she won't deal with me directly to resolve this. On top of this I've found out she has had her license suspended several times for seeing patients while being drunk- Currently she is with Polyclinic Downtown operating under probation license yet they do not tell you this- I would never have chosen to see someone who has had their professional license taken away by the state- I think it is dishonest to not state this upfront. WA Master Case # M2012-1046 Her ego is just out of control and she needs to be taken down a notch or two for lack of caring what she does to people- a personal phone call could have avoid this review but that (I) basic human connection was beneath her

Dr Smyth is wonderful. So understanding of all ailments and her bedside manner excellent

It isn't very often you find a provider as thorough as Dr. Smythe. She listens to what I'm saying and her treatment plans have been spot on. As a woman just now going through menopause, Dr. Smythe has been very considerate of this transitional stage of my life and has recommended books for me to read and encourages me so I don't feel like I'm going crazy. She is about exercise, good health, and nutrition. She has worked with me to help me loose weight which was causing a lot of my medical issues that no longer exist. She doesn't play around and I respect that about her. I don't need to hear that my being overweight had nothing to do with the rest of my medical problems, since I knew that it did. I needed a doctor to tell me my weight was an issue and here is a plan, then follow up with the plan. Since beginning to see her I have lost 30 lbs and continue to slowly push towards loosing the last 30. In the interim she has worked on making sure all of my health issues are being resolved. She has saved my life and if you are reading this I know everyone has an opinion but I do hope you will give her a try because she is honestly the BEST! Actually I've gone to a couple of providers in the Downtown Polyclinic location and they are all pretty great, but I am partial to Dr. Smythe :-)

I was hesitant to write this review because I like Dr. Smyth so much that I don't want her to get too many clients! Lol. Dr. Smyth is easily the best doctor I have ever had. She really listens to you and cares, which is surprisingly hard to find now-a-days with docs. I've never had a doctor I look forward to seeing as much as Dr. Smyth, and I've literally never waited to see her (I've had doctors keep me waiting for over an hour before...). She's very knowledgable in a lot of different areas of medicine, and I appreciate the fact that she's not one of those doctors that basically says "go see a specialist" with any issue. Of course, she will refer you out if necessary, don't get me wrong, I just think it's increasingly common to have doctors that won't even try to treat anything specific. Anyway! I guarantee if you make an appointment with her, you'll leave feeling better than when you came in. I always do! I am so grateful to have found Dr. Smyth and to have her as my PCP.
