Went into hospital very ill and Dr Blackham was Dr at time and couldnt have appreciated more than words can say! When my own Dr never came to see me Dr Blacjham was there!! Thank You so much for caring, Teri Johnson
I was w/ Dana for 14 yrs. He delivered both my kids. He was great! Ill definitely miss him. Ill always remember him singing to us after giving birth!! Great guy!!!
I have no idea why he closed & I will miss him so much. He diagnosed me with Endometriosis after 8 years of being dismissed & treated like my pain was imaginary. He operated on it with great success & is the only surgeon I trusted. Feeling totally lost with the news he is no longer seeing patients. I am thankful for having had his excellent care.
Great Doctor!
Couldnt say enough positive things about Dr. Dana Blackham really good doc. He was extremely helpful thru my missed miscarriage earlier this year and gave me a hug when we saw the heartbeat for this pregnancy. If you are looking for a doctor who cares about his patients then look no further. It is a small mom and pop shop so you get the personal attention you need. He calls me back pretty quickly with test results (although he uses NW Hospital so you can call them directly for the results).
Be aware, dusty old office , no email. no follow ups. i called to ask for my test results been ,mailed, no answer the place is a mess, papers with personal data all over the place.
I went to visit this doctor because or the ratings on google and great feedback, but,the whole appointment was weird. and the way he asked about my sexual life , and it was very uncomfortable for me, and he did not seem to be aware or able to read my expression of surprise for such questions, I get it is a doctor and i am at the gynecologist, BUT it did seem awkward, also the place is full of dust and bad decor empty flower vases catching dust, super disorganized office docs and names all over the desk, also the technology has not visited this office. no email , old style of filing with people personal data right upfront the reception desk. and the receptionist was more interested in my insurance coverage than my care. overall a poor care, and did not helped me , i ran for the hills to another more sanitary looking place.
Best Doctor in the area for OB!!!
Dr. Blackham has been my doc for 32 years. He delivered all three of my children. He is a fantastic doctor and incredibly caring person. I am so happy to have met him 32 years ago!
I have endometriosis. Going to doctors is a normal part of my life. Seeing a doctor that cares or can offer any sort of advice is rare. Dr. Blackham was the first doctor Ive ever seen specialist or not, that offered me any sort of solution or pain relief.
Dr. Blackham is a delight. Kind, thoughtful and takes the time to really talk to you. So he is also thorough. I can not recommend him enough.
I had endo and he did my surgery. My stitches are so small compared to my old stiches (i had a ovary removed 10yrs ago) he called me later that night to make shure I was ok.(drs dont do that) I love how personable he is and hilariuos! I only have 1child and really want 1 more and I hope he will deliver my child. I would recommend him to anyone! Infact I did my little cousin who has endo. Its very herritary in my family. And I love how homey his office is and his staff are so kind!
Absolutely wonderful labor experience we could have asked for. Great precare and his personal attention was incredible. Thank you for bringing our little one into the world.
I am pregnant with my 4th child and Ive also had 2 miscarriage. So 6 pregnancies total. I have been with Dr Blackham for every pregnancy and I would go to no one else. Hes patient during long labors and hes quick to call you back if you have any questions. He delivers nearly all his patients which is different than larger practices where you get the oncall doctor. Ive refereed numerous friends and family to him and everyone thinks hes great.
Ive been seeing Dr. Blackham for more than a decade now and contrary to the previous review, I have not had issues with Dr. Blackham re the condition of his office. This man is legendary. All right, he may not have the most germfree office, but he is the master of all things related to womens health. His many, many years of medical knowhow cannot be downplayed; lucky are the women who benefit from his impeccable expertise. He is never condescending, and he is always gentle and respectful. True, he is sometimes forgetful (I suggest that he review medical records before seeing each patient to refresh his memory of that patients history) but his is always 100% on the mark in diagnosing problems for which he quickly and accurately finds solutions.Ive been to doctors offices that are stunningly clean but the treatment I got there was cold and indifferent. Who wants to feel like a slab of meat on the examination table that may be perfectly sterilized but whose doctors are as lifeless and detached as their pristine equipment?
I loved Dr. Blackham. I found myself in his office, prior to an emergency surgery due to an ectopic pregnancy. He was kind, compassionate, informative, and genuine. Would definitely recommend him!
I love the man and his receptionist(s). he spent nearly an hour with me on my first visit and addressed all my concerns. Im still a bit young to have children, but let me just say that I hope he does not retire any time soon!! His office is not a flashy as most, but that is what I love about it!
The reason I chose him to be my OBGYN is b/cs he is prompt with his appointments, and I can park directly outside the front door. He also has all the right credentials & good reviews on the net. Im happy.
Poor hygiene practices!!I feel like Dr. Blackham is a nice man and a smart and capable doctor in most regards, but office conditions and hygiene practices are pretty shocking. His office is dingy and dumpy, and his medical instruments just sit out on the dirty tables collecting dust and germs and who knows what (he doesnt even set his tools on a clean paper towel, everythings just out on the little wooden tables or jammed in a coffee mug). His speculum sits in a tub of water on the ground. His floors look grimy (I can only hope theyre merely stained, not actually dirty). There are crusty bottles of iodine sitting about, and almostempty tubes of KY jelly just sitting there on the table. Even the box of rubber gloves is dirty (how does the BOX get dirty??). His water cooler and drinking cups are about two feet from the toilet, inside the bathroom (GROSS). There is no garbage can receptacle by the bathroom door, so you have to touch the bathroom handle with your hand, not a paper towel (because you have nowhere to throw the paper towel). Everything just looks and seems filthy, with all tools stored improperly. His own hygiene practices are really bad, too. Ive noticed he opens and closes the (visibly dirty) garbage can with his hand (instead of with the foot pedal) to throw something away, and then doesnt wash his hands. He also doesnt wash his hands before standard office visits, which involve him touching and palpating your entire belly.Im not a big fan of the cloth dressing gowns or the cloth pillowcases on the exam table, either, not with the rampant bedbug infestation thats going around everywhere. I hope he washes and dries everything on HOT.Anyway, he seems like a capable doctor, except in matters of hygiene. I would really, really like to see him clean things up around his office, and start some healthier habits and practices, and at LEAST wash his hands thoroughly before every visit, even if youre not having a full pelvic exam. His office needs to have a heavyduty cleaning and bleaching and scouring session.
Doctor Blackham always listens to what you have to say. He makes time for his patients, and is very caring.
