List of David Chang's Reviews
I think Dr. Chang is a really good physician but he has become jaded because of his patients resistance to therapy. I started CPAP two months ago and felt like I’ve been making tremendous progress. He didn’t listen to what I was telling him and instead based his response on his experience with other patients.
Great doing his job. Concern about his patience
I am stunned by the negative reviewsI do not believe that they represent this superb doctorHe is simply the best sleep doctor in SeattleI have referred many patients to him, and am a patient as wellAlways, outstanding, exceptional care- my patients have benefitted so much, as have I
He is cocky and pedantic. He doesn't listen to you as a patient. He has the appearance of some that wants to collect his video fee and push everyone to CPAP without offering other options. Steer clear of this one.

The bad reviews I've seen here are the complete opposite of my experience with Dr. Chang. His diagnosis and help with my sleep apnea has changed my life. I have been his patient for several years, and he has always been professional, helpful, knowledgeable and ready to listen. His staff has been helpful and professional as well. P.S. I love The Polyclinic! All of my doctors are there and (with one unfortunate exception in the Ophthalmology Department) have always been wonderful.
Just pushing to sell the machine. Not everyone is interested in wearing your machine. Left without a solution. Polyclinic is a nightmare to deal with
WOW WOW WOW. To be honest, I just saw the rest of these reviews and thought, "Did I go to a different doctor? Or maybe I just caught a good day? I'm not sure, but my experience with Dr. Chang was awesome. I suffer from PTSD from past trauma and over the years, my sleep quality has seriously suffered. And when it comes to anxiety, depression, and just mental health in general--your sleep takes a toll. And when you're not getting enough sleep, it exacerbates anxiety and depression. It's very vicious cycle.I finally took the first step to try to fix my sleep recently and my PCP referred me to Dr. Chang. I only had one issue with the entire appointment and it was just that I wish they would electronically send you the pre-appointment paperwork required before you see the doctor. I didn't see the mail before my appointment and was just going to show up on time. Good thing I called first because I ended up having to reschedule to later that same day so I could fill out the paperwork first. It's about 3-4 pages. Other than that, my experience was amazing. I mean, even through the rescheduling process their front desk person was so understanding and courteous. Once Dr. Chang came in, he went through some questions of his own and thoughtfully got to what we think may be the root of the problem, regarding my flight or fight response connection to beds. The entire time he asked questions, even more personal ones about my past trauma, he was so sensitive and really listened to my experiences. He never made me feel rushed. He considered and respected all my input, taking my concerns seriously. All the time, he reassured me that he can help me. He also set my expectations for the road ahead and asked me to be patient with myself--which is honestly a nice thing to hear, considering anxiety tends to mean you're pretty hard on yourself. Lastly, I appreciated the nurse's sensitivity and care when I asked her to not include my weight on any paperwork she sent with me. I ask this from all my doctors and most just use a sharpie to cross out the number, and you can still see it.
Dr. Chang is a condescending, arrogant Doctor, with a creepy personality. He doesn't listen to, or take serious his patients perspective on their health concerns. He immediately dismisses what a patient feels is going on.I told him there was a direct connection between my post-nasal drip and gasping for air, when I first was falling asleep. I told him the problem instantly goes away after I use a Nasal Rinse. He immediately said there is no connection between using a Nasal rinse and by breathing/choking problems going away. He immediately denied what I just told him instantly worked for me. He doesn't listen or care what a patient has to say. He want to diagnose Sleep Apnea for any breathing related issues.Grasping for straws, he asks me if I ever slept on my side as a child. (Who hasn't) That causes Sleep Apnea according to him. If that wasn't enough, he says I have the classic type of cheeks of a person with Sleep Apnea. Also, I'm a Senior citizen and I resented him referring to me as "Young Man". I found that condescending, insulting and just another aspect of his arrogance, condescending attitude towards his patients.I couldn't get out of his office quick enough. I felt extremely uncomfortable with him and would never have anything to do with him again.I later saw another Polyclinic Doctor, who said my symptoms were NOT Sleep Apnea. If I would have read all the other bad reviews of Dr. Chang, I would have never scheduled an appointment with him.
This office was terribly unprofessional. I was maybe 5 minutes late to my appointment and I was shamed by everyone in the office. They refused to give me a full appointment insisting that I completely inconvenienced them and other patients. Dr. Chang didn't take my concerns seriously. Didn't listen to me as I tried to explain my symptoms. He told me "I don't understand why you have such a sense of urgency"... my sleep issues are ruining my life and I need help, he's supposed to be the expert. Maybe if you don't have a desire to help people you should pick a different profession.I get being late I really do I know it puts them behind schedule and it's an inconvenience to work someone in. I felt terrible. However, there wasn't a patient after me and Dr. Chang wasn't rushing off to a meeting.... While I was at the front desk setting up my follow up appointments Dr. Chang and his nurse were gossiping about other people in the office. They made me feel terrible, didn't give me appropriate time and attention so they could gossip about someone. How rude and unprofessional on top of everything else... I would never see any doctor associated with sleep medicine at the polyclinic.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
