In 2018, I was diagnosed with a thyroid cancer and went for a consultation with Dr. Byrd. Dr. Byrd was very knowledgeable and personal during our meeting and I decided not to go for a second opinion. Overall, the surgeries were a success and I am cancer free now, but I have a couple of reservations about the entire experience more than about Dr. Byrd himself. Dr. Byrd performed a wide excision and sentinel lymph node biopsies for my melanoma in October 2018. I have nothing but the highest regard for his competence and compassion. I was fortunate, in that I needed no further treatment, but I wouldn't hesitate to return to Dr. Byrd and highly recommend him.

Dr. Byrd visited my mother's home after my father's passing to talk about the circumstance. He also has followed up with me and my sister about the possibility of inheriting our father's cancer, and told us what steps to take next. He visited me in the office of another doctor when I went forward with genetic testing. He is hands down the best doctor I have ever seen.
