List of David W. Newell's Reviews
Exlent I wa admitted into the emergency room with a hemorrhage aneurysm. He cracked me open and installed the clip and put me back together.
Horrible human being and doctor. Was in the hospital for a month after walking into two surgeries three days apart and waking up from the second one permanently disabled. I didn’t see him prior because according to his PA, “he was too busy.” I didn’t talk to him for more than 10 minutes the ENTIRE time I was in the hospital. I had questions and his response was, “I’m not going to speak on that.” Post-op 1 month, I dismiss his entourage from the room so as to give professional courtesy. I asked what happened. His response while staring at me in a wheelchair was to shrug his shoulders and relay, “there are only 24 hours in a day.” 7 years later, I still have nightmares about him and his dismissive behavior. Spent over a year in a wheelchair and another two until I was able to walk unassisted. I will always have deficits and he couldn’t take time to speak to me when my life fell apart after waking up having lost the use of my right leg. I was employed years later at the same hospital and knew it was inevitable I’d run into him. He of course wouldn’t have known who I was. I turned around at Starbucks and BOOM he was right there. I started shaking, my mouth got dry and my heart rate skyrocketed. I dropped my money when paying. That my friends is trauma. He won 17.5 millón and maybe 1.5 for “emotional trauma” after being FIRED. Trauma my @$$. If anyone is having surgery, especially neurosurgery, make sure ALL your questions are answered and your procedure is explained. It was a the Wild West when there and the neurosurgery department was soon under federal investigation. Who knows who actually did my surgery as these “beloved” doctors were running multiple OR’s at the same time. I could go on and on. System failures across the board. Beware, he’s sociopathic.
Dr. Newell and his team did an outstanding job on my procedure. I was dealing with trigeminal neuralgia for several years. I was already maxed out on my medication and it was starting to be less effective. His team conducted a micro vascular decompression surgery on the right side. My hospital stay was one day and was released. This was almost three months ago and I had no electrical nerve shocks. I am off of my medication and feel wonderful. Thank you Dr. Newell and your team for the professional service provided.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Newell and all the folks that assist him in arranging for his services. Amy, his office assistant, prior to my last spinal surgery was extremely professional. She lead me through every step of what to expect prior to and follow up. In every step I was comfortable in was was happening. Dr. Newell also completed my cranial surgery a few years ago and it was also Very successful.
I can't say enough about Dr. Newell and his staff. He has changed my life 100%. My wife and I will always be forever grateful for his work. Dr. Newell is a complete and compassionate professional and we would never be able to thank him enough for the work he has done. If your looking for a highly experienced and caring professional for neurology issues, I would highly recommend Dr. Newell. With Two surgeries on my Neck & Lower Back, I am healing and back at work. I appreciate all the staff and Dr. Newell for their patience and help with FMLA and insurance issues. They're the best! Thanks SO Much! Jack & Marcy LeBrun
The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. Dr. Newell and Sarah are very good at explaining options and care. My outcome was excellent.
Dr. Newell, Sarah and the entire staff win your trust over within the first 5 minutes of meeting them. The office is very fast at responding to questions and their customer service is top notch. While I was in the hospital, Dr. Newell and Sarah were able to visit daily to make sure I was comfortable and answered any & all questions we had. I would refer friends and family to the Seattle Neuroscience Institute in a heartbeat...I really can't imagine going anywhere else if something does happen to my brain again. The team gave me a second chance at enjoying my daily life and I will forever be thankful for that!
Eleven years ago Dr. Newell performed surgery and in so doing saved the life of my significant other, Edith, after she suffered a brain aneurysm. She experienced a 100% recovery. More recently Edith has experienced cervical stenosis. The following is an email we sent to Sarah Niles, Dr. Newell's PA-C, after we met with them today (12 December 2019): Sarah, it's obvious that Edith has the support of a world class neurosurgeon, and his world class staff. We want to thank you, Amy, the rest of the staff, and of course Dr. Newell, for helping Edith as she weaves her way through her bout of cervical stenosis and related symptoms. Edith's high quality of life, which includes her family, retirement, and travel, would have suffered dearly had it not been for the intervention of you and Dr. Newell. To say "thank you" doesn't quite seem to do the job. Thank you. R/Steve Rothboeck

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
