List of Dr. Peter Jenkin's Reviews
I waited over three weeks to get an appointment here, but when I arrived they refused to see me because they didn't accept my individual insurance plan purchased on the state exchange (not Medicaid or Apple Health). They also claimed that they were legally prohibited from accepting cash from me. I contacted the Washington state insurance commissioner's office and they confirmed that I am free to visit any doctor and pay cash if I choose to do so. My insurance company also confirmed that I can visit anywhere I like, and that they will pay if it's in-network. If it's out of network, I'm free to pay out of pocket. But Dermatology Associates does not follow these laws or insurance company rules. They only accept their in-network plan partners and nothing else, according to the receptionist. Don't waste time driving downtown and paying for parking only to discover at the desk that your day was wasted. Find a different dermatologist that understands Washington state insurance laws.
Doesn’t take the time to truly assess the issues or properly diagnose. Is prescription happy, and does not address the root cause of the skin issues. Just another pharma pushing sleezy doc.
This "doctor" has no clue what he is doing. I am thankful that I am alive today. Misdiagnosed cancerous basal cell carcinoma on the tip of my nose as seborrheic dermatitis... Failed to take biopsy. Completely incompitent and careless... Because of this doughnut, I have almost 2 centimiters wide carcinoma 3 years later and I have to go for 6 hours surgery under the microscope. I guess I should be thankful that I am not dead. At the time of my visit, it was just a tiny pimple, he could have removed it on the spot!!!! Negligence. Back in 2018 Dr Jenkin noticed a spot on my nose, told me that it will not go away. Prescribed Desonide cream that's used for something else. Word "cancer" did not even came up during my visit. Dr Jenkins did not take a biopsy and did not even schedule follow up visit 6 months later. Complete disregard for medical procedures in this case. Now in 2021, after I went to Hawaii several times and many other countries, spent a lot of time under the sun, I found out that it is a basal cell carcinoma - skin cancer caused by UV rays. Lucky for me, despite the fact that it is cancer, this type of cancer does not spread as fast, but I am at the risk of skin cancer and it could have been appearing everywhere else on my skin (3 years have passed).... This doughnut almost killed me!!!! Unfortinately I cannot sue this doctor in the state of WA unless it was some kind of damages to my health. Only in WA state these doctors are not responsible for misdiagnosis, unless there some kind of other more serious health consiquences. He got lucky he is in WA state, otherwise I would sue him.
so so. He seemed not so interested in severe itching condition and merely told me I had dermatitis and internal process. It turned out to be far more complex than that when I saw another dermatologist who did several biopsies, blood tests, and a chest x ray.
If you have a skin problem, definitely do not go here, unprofessional and demeaning
I took my aunt here for black spots on her face. Dr recommended for bio tx, the package was 2100 for 5 treatment if we paid up front so we did. After two tx without result, the doc switched my aunt to chemical peels which make her face red and dried skin like crazy for like another 8 months, the result wasn’t much better. Then he did biopsy of her skin sending to lab, two weeks later he said he ran out of tx for her, the only tx left would be laser with no guarantee if the laser would work either and it would cost us another 2100! That s when we were pissed, cost us 2100 already without tx and they didn’t even reimburse us back, now he recommended more to, cost more, and still unsure the result. The worse part we received the bill for his service when he performed the biopsy and the bill of the lab which was another 700 dollars. I’ve been called to straight thing out but they couldn’t give us the answer until this point and the bill department sent us the letter that they will send to collection. So basically we were out about 3k and no result on the black spots on my aunt’s face. This is ridiculous! I thought they are professional!
My twin daughters have been seeing Dr. Jenkins for a few years as their acne worsened. He is an amazing dermatologist who altered treatment if and when what they were doing became ineffective. Both girls are 15 years old and do not have any signs of acne. He was willing to give us samples if he had them so we could test a cream prior to purchasing it. The practice also gives out coupons to help with the costs. We tried other dermatologist before finding him. I have send at least 5 people to Dr. Jenkins who have all been more than satisfied!
Went for a rash on Face, diagnosed as Fungal Infection, done some Lab test, prescribed a Brand Name Drug that costs 600$ Called up doctor's office and a follow up call again after 2 days got a Generic Ointment (15$) Used it for 1 month with no results. Meanwhile got the bills but no Lab report. Went to the Doctor again after 1 month, was told it is not fungal infection but can be Acne. Prescribed another Brand Name ointment for Acne inspite of my request for Generic alternative This one costs 400$ and asusual rejected by my Insurance, after about 4 days and multiple calls , yet to get another prescription.. So what good is a Doctor if you can't use his Medication..
I would recommend Dr. Jenkin without hesitation to my family and friends. He gave me thoughtful advise and I am delighted with the result and resolution of my concern, thanks to Dr. Jenkin's care. The staff is a dream!! I feel like visiting them, just to say hello; that's how friendly all of them are. Thank you, I had a wonderful experience. And I waited eight days to write this review to make sure all was as I have expected.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
