I’m writing this to thank you for saving my life. You will remember me when I mentioned Anderson Island. 2013 Dec 24th I woke up with the best Christmas gift ever. Thank you for caring and helping me to believe that I’m going to be just fine.

Dr. Sinanan goes out of his way to make you feel informed and comfortable before your surgery. Every one of his colleges will tell you he is the best and they would have their own family go to him. I had several complications after my surgery and he made sure I was taken care of and still considered me his patient even months after surgery. If you need any kind of bowl surgery he is the best.

I am 86 years old and had a giant inguinal hernia which had a significant negative impact on my quality of life. I was advised by several experienced surgeons, due to my age and overall condition, I should live with the hernia and not have it repaired. Thus it continued to grow to an enormous size. I’m so thankful that I was put in touch with Dr. Sinanan who, without hesitation, said he could readily resolve my problem. The surgery was totally successful and within a few days I was up and around and felt like a new man. I believe Dr. Sinanan is the most competent medical practitioner that I have ever encountered in my lifetime and I am so grateful to him for what he has done for me.

I was referred to Dr Sinanin when he was at the U of W. I believe he was the director of the IBD clinic at the time. I was hospitalized as my crohns doctor in Olympia new I was suffering and we were looking for help. Never in my life have I been disgraced and ridiculed by a professional. I had been suffering for nearly a year and limited to an Ensure liquid diet. My pain was severe at the time and I had a PICC line with IV Dilaudud being given. When I met Dr Sinanin he told me my only problem was that I was obese and obviously must be eating food and that I was a drug addict. He discharged me the following morning, Christmas Eve. My family pretty much disowned me thinking what this man said was true! I knew I was dying and so I started to give my belongings away. Computer, and other valuables . I survived 6 more days before being admitted to Harborview Hospital. When I got admitted I was in multi organ failure and I had a total bowel blockage! The trauma surgeon who saved my life and ended up doing my surgery said I was so blocked she could not fit a hair on her head through the area. This man sent me home to die!!! He did not see me as the sick dying woman that I was but judged me for my looks. I ended up with an ostomy and a nearly 2 month recovery inpatient because I had gotten so ill. This happened about 2014 but I will never forget or forgive this doctor. I hope he remembers my case! I now reside in Texas and am having issues in the same part of my intestines and pray to God the care here exceeds the death wish this doctor willed upon me. And to think he now works in oncology!!

This doctor made me worse than I was before he did surgery. I pointed out to him that I still had open wounds. He sent a letter to my GP stating that he achieved what he planned to do and that I did not have a healing problem. I have 3 open wounds that have not healed which I did not have before he did surgery. He almost killed me twice in 3 surgeries. I have an internal Staph infection that has not gone away. I am in pain most of the time. He had promised me that he was going to get rid of the infections. He never did. BEWARE of HIM!

Great doctor who cares for my condition and thoroughly provided action steps to ease my anxiety.

I went to this man in 2017 to correct an infection to my pelvis. with grafting. Mistake. I had the first surgery grafting a muscel into my pelvis, The next day I was wheeled into emergency surgery for a hematoma that almost took my life. I was bleed inside and needed the graft cleaned up. Went home after 5 days or so. While at home I was running a fever of 103.5 my husband took me to the closest emergency for the UW. Now I had a steptic infection and needed an addition surgery to clean out the leg used for a graft. I now had a incesion on my leg that was 3 inches deep and at least a foot long and 4 or 5 inches wide. Here I am in 2019 and the problem I originally went into Sinanan is much worse that it was when I originally went to him with. I am premantly disabled and in constant pain and infection drain in several areas that were not infected prior to his surgeries. I had to retire early because of constant stinky drainage and constant pain. And by the way I have to deal with 2 or 3 open wounds that causes me constant pain. And with all the stuff going out about pain killers. I am screwed because unless this goes into cancer I have to live with pain that is a 7 to 10+ daily. I would not recommend him.

Phenomenal Surgeon. Needed resections for Crohn’s Disease. Ref’d to Dr. Sinanan who turned out to be experienced with complex gut surgery. Crohn’s can present complications & tricky situations, especially in re: surgery. Dr. Sinanan calmly listened to my concerns & diligently put in place a support structure which made sure I healed well. I found him compassionate, caring, absolutely stellar in his skills as a surgeon, and w/a great sense of humor. 360-degree excellent care, & kind heart.

Dr. Sinanan was a lifesaver. I am a Crohn patient and he did my colon surgery. My GI Doctor, Dr. Michelle Pulling recommended me to the best. All the nurses and doctors I ran into at the UW all said the same of Dr. Sinanan; he works all crazy hours and late as he is passionate about his work and patients. Thank God. I am completely grateful for his expertise. He was so professional and knowledgeable. I felt I was in good hands. Everything was explained, the truth of my circumstance was straightforward with facts. He is completely committed to His patients and his surgerical team. He expects excellence from his team and they have the upmost respect. Everyone on his team is educated, competent and work well together. Dr. Sinanan's compassion towards me will never be forgotten. He held my hand prior to surgery and it helped me so much. I look forward to Dr. Mika Sinanan to do the reversal surgery for my illeostomy as I know I can count on the best from him. Thank you surgerical team!!!

I have had 4 major abdominal surgeries in my life and I can unequivocally say that Dr. Sinanan was the best surgeon bar none. From my first consultation, to my surgery, to my recovery, to my follow up consultation, his care was exceptional.
