List of Optum - Madison Center's Reviews
If I could give all of Optum clinics 0 starts, I would. Long gone are the days of the Polyclinic and the fantastic local care we received in Seattle. To say that Optum is horrendous would be a compliment. Doctors and patients are leaving in droves. And now I understand why. Not only are they overbilling and sending what seem to be high and bogus invoices while MyChart shows no balance, creating confusion and unnecessary stress. When you call them, you barely get through to someone. Patient care is on par with Dr. Mengele. I had to beg for labs that used to be part of my care as someone with an autoimmune they hold my medication hostage unless I have labs done frequently, yet they don't order them and then cancelled my appointment, after I waited 6M for it, to wait another 4M.
Dr. Anne Pesenson is an exceptional physician and nephrologist who worked diligently to arrive at a diagnosis of an unusual condition; even involving the Mayo Clinic. Arguably, without her treatment, I could well have had a catastrophic stroke. I am deeply grateful for every day I am alive and owe much of it to her.
OPTUM in Seattle was great!
The staff are all excellent at what they do. It is beyond sad how Optum has ruined it. The number of providers leaving is astounding. I have lost two amazing doctors. My husband has lost more. They closed the infection disease department last year. I guess HIV/AIDS is now cured and no one needs an expert in that complex specialty. On top of that, their letterhead states the anti-discrimination policy. Not surprising, the usual groups were all included, but LGBTQI+ were omitted. Before the takeover, the physicians of Polyclinic ran the organization. They are the ones seeing the patients and have cared about us. Optum is managed by UHC and are so removed from actual patients, that they can justify cost vs care.
Ever since Optum took over this place has turned into poor quality care and bureaucratic hoops to jump through to even get seen at a specialist. A Dr can send a referral yet it can get denied for arbitrary reasons now. Poor quality of care, long response times, lab services you’re waiting over an hour in a crowded lobby in the middle of the day. Just another Optum ran business making big bucks off of the health or lack there of, of its patients. Shame on you Optum. Edit to respond to Optum: no I’m not contacting your customer service what a waste of my time. I’ve completely had it with your clinic and I’ve been going to the polyclinic with quality care and doctors for years, but Optum take over has turned it into a money hungry operation. So why would I waste my time emailing some void that will care less anyway!?!?
Do I miss the days before The Polyclinic became part of Optum Care? I do. Were all my needs met at my last visit? Absolutely. Nostalgia aside, the Madison Center has organized its workflows — in the app, on the phone, and in person — in a way that let me schedule everything I needed on the day I wanted, within a two‑hour window. The visit was productive and, dare I say it, fun. Norma, my doctor’s nurse, helped me wrangle the scheduling puzzle quickly when the app hesitated, and Leslie at the front desk handled my endless questions with humor and practical guidance. Adults can manage almost anything when the conversation is grounded in science and facts, and Dr. Chesnutis consistently turns treatment and advice into a true collaboration. Thank you.
My nephrologist Dr Nakamoto completely ignored me and ignored me for 2 years when I had a worsening haemoglobin condition. She never addressed this issue. She sent me to ER where they never addressed condition either.
I was seen by Dr. CHristina Wong following damage to my rotator cuff. Before our meeting I received X-rays of the affected shoulder area. Dr. Wong was timely, polite/friendly. She quickly decided to perform an ultrasound exam in office. Dr. Wong confirmed presence of a "traumatic tear of tissue," shared the results immediately. She explained that she could spot both new and old tears but couldn't assess extent of injury. Dr. prescribed physical therapy and referred me for an MRI. Results: new insights on injury; and solid plan with appropriate short- and longer-term components. Pretty much what you'd hope for from an office visit. I'm grateful for Dr. Wong's expertise.
Have been at Optum when it was Polyclinic since 2007. Can’t imagine going anywhere else for my health care.
The business model for optumcare is not conducive for good healthcare. Is all about scheduling appointments and making money. Doctors that have not left, clearly don't want to be there, and care even less about there patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
