Otway Louie Md's Online Review Report Card

I should not even give one star to this doctor or his staff. This was the least compassionate clinic that I have ever been to. I am well spoken, well put together, and have never in my life been treated this way at any other business. I mention this because sometimes when i read other reviews I wonder if the person was maybe trashy or confrontational. Not that this would justify it but it may be easier to understand. I am just your average person, mother and ex spouse of a police officer. They do not care at all about victims of DV and treated me like less than a person. The patient care coordinator was rude, demeaning and made me cry. I called to complain about her and the management did nothing for many months. I was made to show proof of my assault to them which was a huge trigger after being through something horrendous already. My breast was manually ruptured and i had to prove it to him. No one apologized for what i had been through after seeing the proof. No one even offered me a safe person to speak with. In fact the doctor himself made a snide remark about my assault shortly before and after my surgery. I went into surgery in absolute terror and woke up the same way. The first thing that I remember him saying is.."Oh i guess you really were ruptured." I am not sure if he lacked skill or if it was because I had rocked the boat with his management. I was botched beyond repair. I had two other surgeries to try and repair what had been done to me but you cannot replace chest wall muscles which imaging confirmed that he had cut completely out of my chest. When i looked back at my surgical notes it says that he removed cancer from my chest. I did not have cancer that I know of. I honestly think that I was given the wrong surgery (partial mastectomy) and no apology. I did not have cancer I had a ruptured implant. I had to have strattice put in to create a new chest wall by another surgeon. I will never be 100% again but after 2 surgeries my second surgeon was able to mask the deformity. When i went in for a follow up with my chest wall caved in demanding that someone explain and fix it the doctor laughed at me literally and told me that i would look great once i healed while he laughed out loud . Another doctor in the room apologized to me and acknowledged that what was done to to me was inexcusable. He agreed that i needed to be fixed and kept apologizing to me. If anyone wants to see what he did to me I will gladly send you a photo because they speak for themselves. I did eventually get a formal apology from management at UW and did not have to pay for most of my surgery. To this day no one has explained what went wrong. I tell everyone that I know to stay far away from this doctor. It has been 4 years since he butchered me and not a day goes by that I am impacted by what he and his office have done. It truly was adding insult to injury. Stay far away and do not fall for his reviews. I did. Notice the red flags and beware.

Dr. Louie is by far the very best Dr. I have met. He is compassionate, caring, he listens, and has time to answer questions. He is friendly and has a genuine respect for patients. I am grateful I found him and would definitely recommend him to my family. Dr. Louie correctly addressed my medical concerns I am very pleased with the outcome. Thank you Dr. Louie you gave me my life back, relief, and self confidence!

Dr. Louie is a great surgeon who is compassionate and kind. He possesses gentle bedside manners and is very easy to talk to, I am very grateful to have found him as my surgeon.

i never write reviews, esp. when it comes to physicians. Dr. Louie however deserves the praises. Hands down the most caring surgeons out there. His reputation is easy to look up and is impressive, but the bedside manner is what gives him this extra kick.

One of the most responsive physicians I have ever encountered. Great listener which gives him the "what" and the "why leading to long term patient satisfaction.l

Dr. Louie is a caring very knowledgeable man. If i ever need plastics again he is who i would go to.

This man is the most awesome Surgeon. He cares about the patient and not about the insurance. He has the highest Integrity, as well Dr. Robert Marshall. He is honorable and works with high ethics. I thank GOD for both Dr. Otway Louie and Robert Marshall with Valley Medical. There are still good Doctors out here. Thank God!

Dr. Louie and the medical staff were super compassionate and professional. I had a lengthy surgery but felt calm going into it as I felt Dr. Louie was competent. I felt that I was in great hands. My surgery went well and a few weeks into recovery I'm healing up well already. The patient coordinator on the other hand was rude, unprofessional and downright unethical. I did file a formal complaint as I found it impossible to communicate with her. At one point she actually tried to cancel my appointment because I complained about her. She was the only bad experience that I had through the entire process.

Dr. Louie has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have encountered. He is a caring, skilled professional, who is very generous with his time. I have been through 5 surgeries with him, and could not give him a higher rating. He's the best!
