WARNING. Do not get a colonoscopy of you have a weak pelvic floor. I specifically asked both Headstrom and her team in advance if there is higher risk - they all seemed too busy to take the time to even acknowledge my question. After Headstrom's procedure I experienced immediate fecal incontinence, and still do 5 years later almost daily (after NEVER having a problem ever before). When I followed up, Dr. Headstrom feigned total ignorance of there being a possible connection, and showed absolutely no empathy at how upsetting I found this outcome. I've had to completely adjust my lifestyle to deal with what has been subsequently diagnosed as permanent stretching and sphincter nerve damage. If you're not high risk, ask your GP about other options. I've since learned from working with multiple pelvic floor rehab therapists and medical doctors that this type of damage is not uncommon post-colonoscopy. Why in the world would a specialist in the field be so unaware of this? Want to live in Depends at age 50 - Headstrom can help you get there! I miss wearing light colors & clothes, and hate having to schedule my life around bathroom availability. It's taken me this long to write a review because I've been so traumatized about this... but I realize if I don't share, there might be others who end up with the same results. I did try writing the hospital's quality review board, but they were incredibly dismissive as well.
Dismissive doctor. Within the first few minutes she made up a diagnosis (a wrong one) and was no longer interested in finding out what was wrong. It was obvious she didn't care.
I'm a huge fan of Dr. Headstrom. I've seen her for two colonoscopies (2015 and this year) and can't say enough good things about her. Very personable, knowledgeable, and answered every question I had. The rest of the staff at Polyclinic was also really great.
I had my first colonoscopy with Dr. Headstrom and she was amazing. Competent and kind, I felt well taken care of the entire time.
Dr. Headstrom is very knowledgeable and she is a great diagnostician. She is straightforward and communicates clearly about my condition and my treatment options. She is not a touchy-feely doctor, but she is professional and caring and I am happy that she is my physician.
Absolutely no compassion Completely disregarded my request to review prior colonoscopy results Elicited the greatest amount of pain she could during examJust wants to do colonoscopy and be done with youRun away
Today Dr. Headstrom was on-call for the Polyclinic gastroenterology clinic. I called for a refill on a prescription that I was nearly out of and found out from the pharmacy on Friday night that I was out of refills. Today being Saturday the clinic was closed, but I called in hopes that the on-call physician would call in a refill to last until I could get ahold of my regular and wonderful Dr. Han next week. I was berated on the phone by Dr. Headstrom for calling the on-call doctor for a non-emergency. Untreated GERD can cause significant pain and I felt this was important enough to use the on-call service. Unfortunately I was treated in the most uncaring and uncompassionate manner. I was told to buy some OTC medicine and call next week. I was literally yelled at for calling and "bothering" her when she was on-call. I can only concur with the post who commented that Dr. Headstrom had lost all capacity to show emotion. The only emotion I saw was anger and resentment. This was truly an awful experience and I will follow up with the clinic manager in the hopes that patients who call on the weekend won't have this type of experience.
Dr. Headstrom is rude and uncaring. She is a poor listener and communicator. She felt inconvenienced to be called on a Saturday when she was the doctor on-call and berated her patient for calling. I would highly recommend you cease care with this physician as she is indifferent to the patient and uncaring.
I was very nervous about my first colonoscopy. Dr. Headstrom was so reassuring and kind that I felt I was in good hands. Actually I think I was in the best hands possible! She explained everything after the surgery and then called me at home the next morning to check and see how I was and if I had any questions. It was almost like a house call and above and beyond what I expected. I will need another colonoscopy in 1 year as I had many polyps. I will definitely request Dr. Headstrom!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
