I just want to say how professional and kindness these guys at Northgate have been. I am a retuning patient and these guys really do care for your well being. They didn’t rush me and asked all the right questions not because it’s their job but because they really do care. Dr. Kinder is one awesome doc- helps that he loves the Seahawks just as much as I do!!! The treatment he laid out for me is going to make things so easy for me dealing with my lower back and getting back to work. I’m so excited to be back. I wish there were more stars to give this review honestly, Thank you guys sooooooo very much.
I love this pain doctor office. Everyone is so kind and understanding. Thanks to them I am feeling better Han I did in Florida.
Absolutely a joke. I have been nonstop frustrated with this place. Randomly being billed for services that never took place or billing under a different name so my insurance wouldn't cover it. And don't even bother calling, you will CONSTANTLY be routed to the voicemail and they don't call you back. Haven't been there since July but 6 months later I get a $14,000 bill for literally no reason and here I am, yet again, leaving voicemails and getting zero response back. Used the automated messaging system, zero responses back. I went in there barely able to walk so they suggested an MRI and it took me 11 phone calls and voicemails to get an MRI order over to CDI....great sense of urgency. NOT. Doctor gave me two back injections and random medications before even suggesting an MRI and without a thorough examination to even understand where my pain was coming from or even why it may be happening. And after all of that I am still seeing a chiropractor, a message therapist, and an acupuncturist, none of which they suggested or recommended to me and feel more cared for, mentally and physically, than I ever did here. So thanks for literally nothing. ANSWER MY VOICEMAILS!!!!
Just ew. Hindsight is 20/20 but when you're in pain, your vision can be cloudy. I called when I was desperate and in horrible pain from back issues. I've tried so many interventions with only partial relief. I wanted to try a different kind of place/provider so I made an appt at the Federal Way location. First of the all there were red flags when reading the new patient paperwork. There are so many clauses that basically make you as a patient liable for everything, including large fees at their discretion. First of all when you get there, the door is locked and you have to call or text to be let in. It's super awkward on the first visit because you don't expect that. They took awhile to open the door and it was cold outside. Then they force you to pay for a UA regardless if you are there to get meds or not. It was bizarre. Although I was open to treatment for big flare ups with meds, that was not my priority. I wanted to actually talk to a provider to discuss possible options before I committed to a UA (in hindsight, WTF is this place? ). The patient room you meet the nurse and MA in is very cold, empty and uninviting. Although I felt nurse Danielle was thorough and compassionate, when I met dr. R (whatever), I quickly found out that I was just another appt he had to go through. He didn't take a look at my history or my images. He knew nothing, except the fact that I had back pain. This second appt was sooo pointless and he offered nothing. He refused to give me meds for when I get excruciating pain (rarely like 2-3 monthly). After all of this, it feels like the place is prey for us desperate souls to come out of our pockets to in hopes of being cared for by a place that listens, cares, and treats. Next time I'll listen to my intuition. Please take this as you will.
Dr. Kinder is a doctor in an echelon by himself, redefining how positive a visit to a medical practitioner can be. I stumbled into his office by lucky accident and immediately felt like I was chatting with an old friend; his impressively disarming bedside nature is immediately evident, matched only by his deep medical knowledge. I particularly liked that he had various skeletal models and could show me exactly why I was in the pain I was in, based on two different theories he had from watching me hobble in the door; he didn't even need to run any tests to figure out what was wrong (but he did them, of course, to confirm). We determined that it was worthwhile for me to get a steroid injection in my hip, which sounded terrifying at first...but he made sure to preempt my questions with a wealth of helpful and reassuring information, and he answered everything else I could think to ask with patience and professionalism. When I went in for the procedure, his team was efficient and kind, and he explained each step of the process to me. I even got to watch the little screen as he found the exact right spot to insert the needle, and he taught me a bit about hip anatomy in realtime at my request. I was honestly laughing throughout the procedure because he's downright funny in addition to being super knowledgable; I climbed off the table and said "wow, that was fun!" Not what you'd expect from a doctor visit, much less one where a six-inch needle is involved. My followup visit was over the phone, and he again took time to talk about everything on my mind; I felt like I was the center of his day, despite likely being one of dozens of appointments he was juggling. The pain I was in is mostly gone, but part of me wishes it weren't so I'd have a good excuse to go back to Dr. Kinder and his crew. I'll be recommending this practice to anyone and everyone. I'm likely moving out of state in a few weeks, but I'll find a way to go back to Seattle Pain Relief if ever I'm in need of a pain doctor again.
Excellent care. Thank You
Awesome service .really listens to me and gave me understanding to my pain
After trying several other clinics they was able to get me in and even put me on a cancellation list case I could get in sooner
Always nice, nurses also go above and beyond to help with my needs due to wheelchair. Love it here!
not helpful
Dr. Cobb is an excellent surgeon, he never seems rushed and takes time to break down anything complicated. The office staff is also wonderful and friendly.
Marshall is my adviser and he is really great in listening and trying to help.
‼️‼️NOT FOR THE DISABLED COMMUNITY!!! ONLY 1 HANDICAP PARKING SPOT AND NO HANDICAP DOOR PUSH BUTTONS!!!!! ‼️‼️I Left in tears!!!! I thought I would be helped. Instead I was told I had to make 3 separate appointments after my initial appointment in order to have any kind of pain management.I was told my appointment was at noon not once but TWICE over the phone. Then when I got there with all paperwork in hand I sat waiting. (Mind you the man taking my paperwork and insurance info didn’t even tell me that someone would be with me shortly and to have a seat. He just sat down and closed the window so obviously he was done talking to me!)I waited 25 minutes when finally I stood up and asked when I was going to be seen after 4 people who came in after me were taken back. The lady told me my appointment was at 12:20 and I would be next. I didn’t get taken back until 12:35.The nurse taking my info was nice. Dr Ryskin barely made any kind of eye contact and I felt like a report he was writing up rather than a human being. He would interrupt me and start having his nurse type stuff about me or his plan. After that I gave a urine sample and then was told I’d have to come back for 1 appointment for a plan of action 1 appointment to sign a contract and 1 appointment to get an injection. When I asked why they couldn’t just be one appointment the lady at the check out told me they couldn’t schedule 3 appointments in one day.I asked why it needed to be 3 separate appointments as this was not my first rodeo with pain management. I have been going to Drs, pain specialists, Neuro, ortho, physical therapy, rheumatology, sports medicine for almost 8 years in 3 different states and have NEVER had to make 3 separate appointments for something that could be combined into one!!I would have had to pay $93 in copayments just to possibly get started with some form of pain management. Not to mention that I suffer from so much pain that just going to this appointment was physically incredibly painful for me.I physically would not be able to come back 3 times in less than 3 weeks in my current state of pain.THIS PLACE ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO MAKE MULTIPLE APPOINTMENTS FOR THINGS THAT CAN BE ADDRESSED IN ONE!!!THAT WOULD BE LIKE MAKING 3 APPOINTMENTS WITH YOUR PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER FOR COLD AND FLU SYMPTOMS, HEADACHE = 1 appointment STOMACH PAINS = 1 appointment FEVER = 1 appointment....This is not the place for those who truly suffer from debilitating pain! Find another place who actually has a handicap push button and some disabled parking!
Love all the kindness and special care the Doctors and Nurses give here. The whole staff is so nice. Just wish you had better sedation Iike I had in Arizona
Seattle Pain doctors and staff have been so amazing and patient with my healthcare needs and medications. Doctors are very compassionate and try everything available to work with their patients to achieve the best results in order for the patient to reach their best life worth living goals. Staff work really hard to maintain great relationships with patients and are very helpful with scheduling.
They really care about what is going on with you. They take the time out to make sure your meds and over all health is on track. Amanda MA has really gone above her job by take the time to listen and explain when something isn’t right. Taking any issue to the correct person so it doesn’t happen again. I am pleased to know that I have a doctors office that cares and I am not just a patent I matter, My health matters
Pain control specialists that listen and work with you as an individual person , not as a group of symptoms. My preference for homeopathic remedies is worked into my individual care plan. I have been a patient for several years for and hope to continue with this provider, where the goal is comfort and healing, for all my pain management and therapeutic treatments
They pick and choose who they are going to help. Young or old it doesn’t matter PAIN IS PAIN!! I was in a car accident came to this place I signed off on my medical records months ago they never got them. They rather help the drug addicts and people who sell their pills. I have a severe back injury because of my accident also losing feeling in my legs and hands and they wouldn’t help me with medication or anything. They wouldn’t let my grandma nor daughter come back With me and she’s my caregiver. I just had to hire a discrimination lawyer because of their actions. Sitting here trying to charge me for nothing and they aren’t doing anything for me. Run far from this place. DR Ryskin discriminates doesn’t care about you. He told me he doesn’t know why my doctor sent me to a surgeon they won’t help you. Pain doctors are the lowest at the bottom he’s very unethical.
I have been coming to SPR since May of 2017 after my rheumatologist, who was my pain specialist retired. I have systemic lupus, fibro, sjogren’s. I thought that it would be incredibly difficult to find a specialist who would understand the complexities of connective tissue , and its role in severe chronic pain—and I was correct. I contacted several pain providers in Seattle and Tacoma , while many were very sympathetic, they were fearful due to the public misunderstandings of what it means to treat pain. Seattle Pain Relief were my last resort. During my first appointment, I met Dr. Riskin and I asked about neurological pain stimulators, and he told me that I am not an ideal candidate for this pricey procedure. I respected that I was told the truth, because I had been told otherwise 3 times by physicians. I was accepted as a patient -, for which I am incredibly grateful for. Over the last three years as a patient, I have have since various providers, for whom, I have been treated with the respect and dignity that all patients hope for. Additionally, and most importantly—-I have been able to maintain high function, and a very good quality of life. I highly recommend the providers at SPR: Danielle, Chevellla, Dr. Riskin, Cade, and the staff like Amanda.
Everyone was polite, empathetic, my balance and billing issue that I had been fighting over for the last 6months was resolved. It was like walking into a whole new facility with a completely different administrative staff. It was a breath of fresh air, and what the clinic originally was roughly 5 years ago. Thank you for treating me like a human being again!
