Swedish Medical Group's Online Review Report Card

Our case was a little different because we were adopting an unborn child from a young mom. We were very displeased with the way the staff treated everyone involved. This hospital showed a pattern of disrespect, unethical behavior, and lack of compassion. Adoption is a very heart wrenching and emotional roller coaster for all parties involved and they did not cater appropriately to any of the parties. The social worker and charge nurse lied to us about a list of things instead of being straight up and honest.The doctor and nurses added additional and unnecessary stress to the already high stress situation. They even went so far as to try and push their believes and opinions on the situation. The lack of education and ability to cater to diverse situations was astonishing. Even our lawyer who had done adoption for thirty years was blown away by their behavior. I hope they consider more education for this particular topic.Whenever I tell the story of my child’s birth I make sure to include our horrifying experience in this hospital so no one will have to suffer the way we did. We were robbed of many first time memories with our child. We will never get those back and it was all because of this uneducated, bigoted hospital staff.The only reason they deserve even one star is because of an excellent nurse on post partum who was very kind and understanding. She tried her hardest to make everyone comfortable within the situation. We will never forget the sweet tenderness of her kindness that night even if it was in vain.

Staff is really attentive when you come as a patient. Most of the staff speak and are friendly and helpful. The volunteers at the concierge station take their roles REALLY serious and if you take a wheel chair, the will hunt you down in the hallway to remind u to bring the wheelchair back. I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS put things back where I find them. Cafeteria hours are reduced, so be sure if your needing lunch to go before 2 or 230. The grill is where I order most of my food.... the most try's are the omelets with bacon, tomatoes, cheeses mushroom and whatever else you would like to add in for an additional $.50 to $1.00. Also, try to grilled cheese and add ham or your favorite sliced meat. I always loved t try he roast beef and mashed potatoes or salmon n mashed potatoes. They're ARE pricey! So remember that the lunch specials will usually cost you about $8-9 bucks and you may get a better deal for ur money going t to o a local restaurant or finding a lunch special. Sometimes the kitchen staff is a bit funny style and depending on who you get, you could get a different answer. I had a woman that would always go to the taco bar to grab me jalapeños but if she wasn't there, the other ladies would say no, they couldn't do that. Interesting. George and Angie are all stars and very friendly. Food is just mediocre. You're always safe to try a pre made salad (Asian chicken salad) .Also if you are like me and trying to avoid ribs and carbs try the turkey burger no bun.

I had a lung cancer CT scan last Friday the 23rd of July and I'm still waiting for results! I saw my primary doctor yesterday and called the day before my appointment since I had been unable to get any results from thoracic!!! I asked that they get my scan to my primary doctor  so I could actually get the results since nobody at first hill, thoracic could help me! No luck once again still waiting!!! I called again to first hill thoracic to find out that the only 2 people who could tell me my results are either on vacation this whole week or off today!!! Really???!! So I did find out from my primary that I have a 9mm nodule on one of my lungs! Wow!!! And I can't get the full report??? Swedish just sucks!!! I've had so many friends and family switch to other care providers because swedish is the worst care provider I've ever dealt with! I've been with Overlake and evergreen and they both care about their patients, unlike Swedish!! If you care enough about your health, go anywhere besides Swedish! I'll be moving my care to another provider.

just now-EditI have seen several doctors at Swedish and in a nutshell, it is the WORST so-called 'health' organization in the country. They are like the biggest bullies on the block and let their lowest front line techs and administrative people berate, bully and intimidate sick patients. And if you try to present this to their supposed QA department (of 1), you may as well talk to a wall as they do take care of their own. Don't let the .org fool you - they are making profits hand over fist, I assume without paying taxes. The WORST. I am a senior with cancer, pain and other medical issues and they treated me with the more disrespect than a panhandler on the street.If you wish to have compassionate care, go to VA Mason, Polyclinic, UW Medical or anywhere else. Although beware that most of our supposed health care groups have been bought out of all things big insurance companies. Kind of like the fox guarding the henhouse. Our "health" care system is a mess, but this is the WORST of the worst. Steer clear.

Yea I like to I thank Swedish for saving my life I'm currently in Swedish first hill in room310 feeling I wish there would just let me for dead

I recently had elective surgery at Swedish First Hill in Seattle this past week. I had been putting off having this surgery for quite sometime and was quite a bit apprehensive about having it done. It turns out that I had nothing to worry about. My doctor (Dr. Kim) did a great job. My anesthesiologist (Dr. Price) spoke to me first and answered any questions that I had. All of the nurses and people working in this hospital were extremely courteous and professional. I know that there have been some complaints from other people about this medical facility, but my personal experience was great and I would highly recommend this place to anyone thinking about going there. Special thanks to Caitlin, T, Sylvia and Gabriel for making my stay pleasant and memorable.

I have been at this hospital with my wife to give birth.After she gave birth they admitted us to a different room that has no heater working and tell us the baby is cold,but it’s not only the baby we were cold too.we told them the situation there’s no one to care about you.

They have a fair share of prejudice or racially insensitive doctors which is why I left. Not a good place for minorities!

I don't think that the doctors realize here that their patients are not science experiments. This is the saddest thing about this hospital, aside from their complete incompetency. The nurse who was assigned to helping us was so immature that she was playing with another nurse on a gurney, at 6pm on her break, like she was in kindergarten. Furthermore, it took her over an hour to come over to give us an update on my relative's situation. In general, this hospital was so uncomfortable and unable to help with my relative's health that, for now, we are just grateful that she isn't dead from their stupidity.

Many are cold and uncaring. You feel like a test subject rather than a human being. I've had staff make fun of me and share my medical history to others or yell embarassing conditions for others to hear. Depending on who's on staff they could unpriorotize you on purpose or do things like call your name quietly or forget about you.
