List of Tammy Meehan's Reviews
Both of our children have been cared for by Dr. Meehan since they were newborns. She is very caring and appears to excellent at diagnosing and providing advice.
We've had nothing but great experiences with both Dr. Meehan and the staff and Polyclinic Pediatrics. They are on time with appointments, always seem to fit us in for last-minute emergencies/sicknesses. Dr. Meehan is pretty laid back; she offers great advice and listens to any questions we have had. You know the difference between a first-time mom & a second-time mom? She seems like a 'second-time mom' to me; she doesn't overreact, tells you what you need to hear (not necessarily what you want to hear) and seems pretty laid back.
Dr Meehan has been my daughters Pediatrician for nearly 8 yrs since she was a 3.9 pound preemie! She is a no nonsense dr and will give it to you straight! I trust her 1000%
Dr. Meehan was friendly, nice, and answered most of our concerns. She made us feel comfortable. I personally do not treat doctors as though they are saints, they are not... and it takes more than 1 time to find out if something works or not. We live in a free country, we hire these doctors to do their job and if we feel we are dissatisfied we can fire them and acquire another one. But so far, I like Dr. Meehan because first time seeing her, I felt a connection. Keep up the great work and thank YOU for doing what you do, Dr. Meehan.
Dr. Tammy Meehan's first impression is she is down to earth, relates to teenagers and is going to be a great partner in your child's health. If you only need a doctor to sign your athletic eligibility forms then she is the doctor for you. If you think you might have a medical emergency with your child and need a dependable doctor that will actually return your calls then look elsewhere. In 11 months we have had two trips to the emergency room. We have needed guidance the next day after checking out of the ER. Sadly, both days in the ER were on Thursdays, called Dr. Meehan first thing on Friday morning, called back twice more during the day with staff telling me she returns calls after clinical. No call back, call the office at 4:50 and am told, " Dr. Meehan has left for the day, no doctors available but you can talk to a nurse." So now it is Friday at 5:00, I have waited all day to hear back from my child's doctor and have not heard back, it is too late to get assistance from anyone else until Monday, unless we go back to the ER where we already were with Physician Assistants who don't answer the questions we need answers to. I told the receptionist to have Dr. Meehan call my cell, 10:00 pm on Friday night 5 hours since I made that request, and 14 hours since I faxed over the information and made my first phone call requesting she call. We will be finding a new doctor on Monday. Dr. Tammy Meehan should be avoided at all costs, run the other way.
Dr. Meehan has been my daughter's pediatrician for 6 years and we have always received excellent care. She has a great way with children and offers good advice for parents.
My child's former pediatrician left the practice and Dr. Meehan became her doctor. My plan was to go to her for the one year checkup and then find another doctor closer to our home. However, I was so impressed with Dr. Meehan that we continue to see her and my child is now six. I have two grown children and thought a third would be a breeze, but not so. Dr. Meehan has been extremely helpful with our issues. She takes time with us and I feel that she actually knows us, which is something I hadn't experienced before. We will continue to see her as long as possible.
Dr. Meehan is a very intelligent Pediatrician and I have been very impressed with her medical knowledge and care for my newborn. I highly recommend her. When I was pregnant, I did some research on Pediatricians in the Seattle area and liked Dr. Meehan's credentials. Without having met her prior to having my son, I put her contact information in my birth plan as my son's Pediatrician. My son was born via c-section and my breast milk did not come in while I was in the hospital recuperating. I was only producing tiny amounts of colostrum and I noticed that he had little reddish-orange spots in his diaper. Dr. Meehan checked on him every single morning at 7am until we were released from Swedish and asked me about the spots before I even knew that it was something to be concerned about. She explained that my baby was dehydrated because I wasn't producing milk. I was extremely impressed with her while I was in the hospital and I have been impressed with her at every visit since. We worked as a team to resolve my milk production issues so my child did not go hungry and she is a very knowledgeable, understanding, and caring doctor.Dr. Meehan has a great deal of patience, takes all of my concerns about my son's health very seriously, answers all of my questions (serious or mundane), is very smart and has a kind disposition. I truly like this doctor and trust her completely. I think she is a fantastic Pediatrician and I highly recommend her.(I am sorry that Gail C. had a negative experience with Dr. Meehan and that her baby had health issues that were overlooked. It's a very sad story and a horrible thing for a little baby to experience. However, I want to add that as much as I think Dr. Meehan is a fantastic doctor and that I trust her, I'm not stupid. If I truly thought Dr. Meehan was missing the mark on a health issue my infant was experiencing, common sense dictates seeking out a SECOND OPINION ASAP. Doctors are not infallible and I would take my son immediately to another Pediatrician. It's not like Seattle is a remote area with a limited choice of Pediatricians.)Dr. Meehan is a great Pediatrician and I will continue to take my baby and all of my future babies to see her.
Dr. Meehan has been my children's pediatrician since we moved to the area several years ago. I have always been pleased with the way she approaches our appointments. I never feel like she's just checking boxes off a list and moving on; she spends as much time as necessary, engaging in conversation and answering all my questions and concerns. Recently my daughter developed a serious infection, and thanks to Dr. Meehan's quick diagnosis and treatment, we were able to avoid a lengthy hospital stay. Really like this doctor.
I inherited Dr. Meehan after another dr. in her practice group retired. In her care my daughter was injected with an adult dose of vaccine instead of a child's dose. I know that well meaning people make mistakes, but I was already feeling like we were treated like a cog in the polyclinic machine, and after the screw up with the vaccine, I lost fundamental trust in the attention to detail we were getting. Thankfully in this case no long term harm was done, but I have moved my daughter's care to another physician at another practice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
