List of The Emily Program's Reviews
8 minutes ago New Amazing BHTs. Caring and understanding. Amazing nursing staff who took amazing care of me. Wonderful other staff who took my treatment seriously. this was my second time at residential and I was welcomed back with open arms, understanding and care. Case manager Katie S was awesome and always made sure I was being heard. Only complaint is they didn't have enough phones to do their jobs correctly. So they need more phones.
I could feel that every person here cared for how I felt and was invested in my healing. And the gorgeous view out the windows was calming.
Does anyone know of a better center for ED that focuses on the scarier ones( the ones that are not by choice like anorexia or bulimia, aka BED the one that makes you fat and not skinny and i you cant control it...)like is there a place where mostly other ND people with eating fixation go??? My drs recommended this place but obviously never read the reviews or don’t know there will probably be no one like me there. And body image isnt an issue for fat women so i would hate having to hear from a weird perspective it’s the worlds issue. and why would i wanna be stuck in a place with ppl who literally starve themselves JUST so they don’t end up like me..... as if being fat is so bad that they literally have to show their bones and starve.
I want to start by saying the Emily Program my daughter's life. This program is hard! It is not a magic button that will stop on Eating Disorder. This program requires strength, dedication and hard work. we started the Emily Program in July 2024. I believed prior to that that this program would absolutely not work. I believe my child needed to be put in residential and this was my last ditch effort to keep her home. My child insisted that this would absolutely not work. She was not going to participate in it, and we were wasting our money. After our first meeting virtually with our therapist, my child seeing how serious this was, and as much as she did not participate in therapy, it gave My Husband and I the tolls we needed to push, and to be successful with family based therapy. We spent the majority of the time talking and asking questions and that's what this program is designed to do, this is designed to help the caregivers have the right tools to work with a child with an eating disorder. Yes it is still hard and yes, you need a whole team of people with you. You do need your pediatrician and other healthcare providers as well. We had a doctor from adolescent health at Children's Hospital, who also helped with fighting the Eating Disorder. Eating disorders are extremely difficult, you feel like your life is spiraling out of control and this helped us tremendously in stopping the spiral and regaining control back and fighting the voice my daughter's head that told her not to eat. If you're not fully ready to put in the time and effort that this program requires, it will not work for you. This is a program that helps you help yourself not magically Fix your child and have them start eating. After a few months, my daughter is now back to a healthy weight, but it is a constant daily process And the therapist at the Emily Program help you navigate through every step that you have to go through. We are now weight restored, but it is still a process that we still need help with because she's not fully healed it takes time.
I was in php for many weeks. The staff was great. I learned alot. However over time they kept pushing that my progress wasn't as fast as they wanted. Than they kept pressuring me to do residential despite my thoughts and concerns. They told me I could no longer be part of the program unless I changed my mind. I should of read these reviews first.
I think I was still struggling when I left residential and it showed when I started PHP. They put me in lodging so I could go to PHP in person. So you know, I was born female in 1969, started transitioning about 2 years ago, so no real physical changes. I was in lodging for 2 weeks when they gave me a roommate. It was a cis male. Due to abuse during a 22 year marriage I have PTSD. I don't trust cis men. I told them this. They put him in the room, where I slept, regardless. For 2 days I got very little sleep, about 2 hours each night. I asked for something to happen so I could sleep and concentrate on recovery but they said they can't do anything. As far as telling me they couldn't handle everyone's " preferences'. So I left, and am right back to where I started. Between residential and PHP, I was away from home for 3 months. It was a wasted 3 months. I learned a lot, but still can't afford food, which I told them was going to happen. They did nothing.
This is a joke of treatment center; I absolutely agree with previous reviews they serve absolutely terrible food, high starchy carbohydrate low protein. The nutritionist is morbidly obese and is no surprise since for her food is food and doritos and cookies apparently are a great source of nutrition. People just sit and watch their cell phones all day instead of being encourage and promoted to have a healthy lifestyle no wonder patients keep just going back to their problem.
Excellent staff, thoughtful helpful itinerary & provides hope
I was in the PHP program which I thought did the job—it taught me to feed myself reliably again. Most of the staff is great, when I left I made some of them handmade goodbye cards. My gripe is with the fact that I was discharged from a very high level of care, and when I left I was on the waitlist for outpatient care. It has been almost 2 months and I have not received a single update about when or if I will be receiving follow up care. My calls trying to inquire about the waitlist have been ignored. I had been out of treatment without providers for over a month, and had to struggle to find individual providers to take over my care. At this time, I am struggling significantly which I believe is in part due to the fact that I went such a long time without care. They did tell me it would be a long wait but not returning my phone calls is just bad patient care. I do recommend the PHP program but what’s it really worth if you can’t get any care when you discharge?
They serve absolutely terrible food. High starchy carbohydrate low protein. OK if you're in there, overweight, they are not helping you to choose the proper foods. I don't understand how the virtual meetings are supposed to help. I also noticed the response from the Emily program On these complaints, they have a stock response.don't go here. Rip off.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
