List of Ulrik Wallin's Reviews
Dr. Wallin performed my resection that was needed due to stage 3 colorectal cancer. He was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and effective. I barely have a scar left from the invasive procedure and due to the quality of the surgery recovered more quickly than anyone expected. Most importantly, he took the time to listen and was patient in answering questions and guiding me through my cancer journey. He took into consideration my input yet never veered from making the right medical decisions for me. I'm alive today because of Dr. Wallin.
Dr. Wallin took great care of me throughout my need for abdominal surgery. He explained everything clearly. He took time to answer questions. He was thorough in coming to decisions and then decisive, which inspired confidence. I would recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Wallin is everything you can want in a surgeon. He explains things carefully and clearly. He takes time to answer questions. He follows up. He inspires confidence. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was in pain daily for 5-6 years due to diverticulitus. Decided to have this addressed finally, and THANK GOD I stumbled across Dr. Wallin. He knew exactly wahat was occuring with my body. Asked me questions, walked me thru the process, and made sure I was comfortable w/ the decisions made. There was a good probability that I could've had a permanent ostomy bag attached. Upon learning this, I damn near ran out of the room. I'm 45 and couldn't imagine dealing with that the rest of my life. I'm certain that would've been the case but for Dr. Wallin! His deft hand, along w/ the professionals who work along side him, spared me that, and I am BEYOND appreciative. I am almost completely healed and living pain free! If you need someone who can put you at ease, answer any and all questions, as well as provide outstanding care....this is the Dr. for you! If it weren't for COVID, I'd probably still be hugging that man. If you have any issues, Dr. Wallin is the truth.
I cannot thank Dr. Wallin enough for seeing me on short notice, being extremely diligent in detecting my cancer, and removing it with a successful surgery. I went through the worst time in my life, but it could have been much worse without such a great doctor on my side. I am very grateful for his expertise and highly recommended him to anyone needing a colorectal surgeon.
I came to this doctor based on a recommendation due to a severe reoccurring problem with bleeding and other concerns. I explained my issues and he did a very basic standard exam. He was dismissive and arrogant saying that not only he couldn't help me but if any other doctor said that they could they were misleading me. Due to the chronic problem I have had many of the standard exams and know what it usually costs. The billed before insurance cost of this type of initial visit and brief exam usually varies between $250 - $450. After insurance discounts before copays etc. the net cost is usually between $150 - $300. Dr. Wallin billed my insurance $788! The billing claimed a "surgical procedure" which is idiotic. I assumed that it was an error and called the billing department immediately after I received the bill. The billing department said they would suspend the billing and asked for a review by the Polyclinic in Seattle. I heard nothing for over a year and assumed that it had been resolved. Recently I received a rebilling for the entire amount. I called them assuming it was a mistake. They stated that Dr. Wallin and insisted that the billing was fully correct. They are demanding the full amount of $673.55 from me. Because Dr. Wallin was so dismissive I chose to seek another opinion. I went to a UW specialist who did a more extensive exam and even brought in another doctor for consultation. They spent a very long time with me discussing the issues. They were able to come up with an actual diagnosis and a treatment plan. UW medicine billed my medical plan $425 with and costs after discounts of $264. I made multiple calls to attempt to resolve the billing issue with PolyClinic and Dr. Ulrik Wallin and they have rebuffed every attempt. I cannot more strongly discourage anyone for every seeking care from Dr. Ulrik Wallin ever. The arrogance, inability to listen, coupled with the outrageous billing practices make Dr. Ulrik Wallin and the PoliyClinic a hard pass! Be warned stay away!

As we all know it takes forever to see a specialist. First you have to have a referral from your primary doctor, than they have sent in referral to a specialist and than you wait! I had Anorectal Abscess(do not wish this on my worst enemy) and was in severe pain for about a week. I was lucky enough to see my NP when I called but she could not drain the large abscess. My wonderful NP called the Polyclinic in Seattle to see if they can see me and Dr. Wallin was kind enough to see me on the same day!!! He drained the abscess to relieve the pain. Not realizing how late it was, by the time I got out, I realized Dr. Wallin had to stay late and to help me with my symptom. Feel better now. Thank goodness I didn't have waited another week to see a specialist!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
