I had excellent care here yesterday and today. I couldn’t breathe and was immediately rushed into the ER, then admitted overnight. Harborview couldn’t even figure it out last week! I have heart failure:( Only Virginia Mason amazing ER doctors and nurses could. You’re all so amazing!

I have been a patient at Virgina Mason for over ten years. In the past few years I noticed a big difference in the type of care that I receive. Things like unhelpful staff members, doctors who never have time to see you, prescription and pre-auth. requests taking forever to process. I have had a painful out patient procedure that should not have been as painful, I have also had a misdiagnoses because someone missed something and entered in wrong information on my chart. I have reached the limit of what I can handle as a patient with VM. When I can actually get in to see my doctor, she has 30 minutes or less to speak to me. I am rushed through that appointment. Then I have to wait a month or more for pre-auths because they keep doing it incorrectly and my insurance isn't receiving it. I feel that I deserve a better experience from a hospital and a doctor. I feel more like a burden than a patient.

This institution is just constantly understaffed. It’s very difficult to get anything scheduled and the service and medical professionals are difficult to work with due to that. I’m just trying to get nerve compressions on my spine consulted with and despite having urgent on the referral and calling them several times they keep stalling. Just save yourself the time and the pain and go elsewhere.

I was born here! I don't remember it but apparently we were watching the OJ Bronco chase live on TV shortly after. I think my parents found the hospital to be a good experience overall.
