Robert Rubenstein's Online Review Report Card

Great doctor.

Dr. Rubenstein was all we expected in a doctor. He spent time with us, explained everything in detail and listened attentively. Best of all, he gave us encouragement and hope. We would not hesitate seeing him again should the need arise. And most certainly recommend him.

After my initial visit I had to wait 2 months for a follow up prognosis call. Yes, I called 3 weeks after the appointment because the office staff said they had to gather medical records. 2 weeks later I called again and they said they would remind Dr Rubenstein again. After 2 months and my suggestions for diagnostics, I finally received a call from Dr Rubenstein. All he did was read me a report that he found from the other Dr from 18 months before. No offer for other testing. Two weeks later he called again. He left a voicemail and said he was catching up on messages. From 2 months prior. This was a waste of precious time and instead I should have gone to a Dr who cares.

Though I initially felt slightly reassured by this doctor's seeming thorough testing, in retrospect, I believe his questions could have been more exhaustive and more well explained to me, someone with very little knowledge of what could be considered neurological symptoms, or what disorders go with which symptoms. I was vaguely concerned about my father due to a referral from the first physical health exam he's had in at least a decade, but I had very little reference to draw from, and I felt like Dr Rubenstein expected me to know how to identify every possible dementia symptom to decide on my own whether or not he had the disease. After further research I happened upon Parkinson's disease symptoms and many of them described my father perfectly. I am disappointed that this particular condition was not discussed by the supposedly well experienced doctor.

Very glad I found Dr. Rubenstein. Went in and he listened to my concerns, he asked me questions, did a few tests and then we decided on a course of treatment for my problem. Very patient with me and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him as a Neurologist.

I was referred to Dr. Rubenstein by my primary care doctor and I had my first appointment with him earlier this week. My daughter is a healthcare professional and accompanied me to the appointment. We were both completely satisfied and pleased with his care, attention and attentiveness to my concerns.

I have worked in healthcare for a while now and this Doctor’s bedside manner is the absolute worst. The person he recommended us to call even told us about all the complaints he gets. The Doctor’s Clinic seriously needs to reevaluate this Doctor he has only 2 stars for a reason. He is the only option for most people please hire someone else! I hope that CHI starts reevaluating their doctors because the quality of care has gone way down and this is a prime example. My mom came in for a consult because she’s been having memory issues and he just told her she’s too stressed. He did the typical neuro exam and was not listening at all to the countless examples we were giving him. He made no effort to have any sort of therapeutic conversation and made us feel belittled and extremely uncomfortable. This is a very sensitive topic to feel like everything you know to be wrong is just all in your head. There was no empathy whatsoever.

I saw Dr. Rubenstein several years ago for symptoms that were affecting my mobility, symptoms that have been steadily getting worse. I am now afraid to continue seeking diagnosis because I was told I was making things up, there was nothing wrong with me, and that I was wasting his time. The way Dr. Rubenstein treated me was abusive. I still replay that appointment in my head and wish I had just stood up and left. Nobody deserves to be treated this way, and I'm hopeful my review helps others decide to look elsewhere for neurological care.

Dr. Rubenstien was thorough, gentle and attentive to my questions and concerns. One diagnosis was made I was actually able to get a follow-up appt. w/i two weeks to evaluate my progress with the prescription provided. He called me personally to check on me which was mind blowing. 5 star rating!
