Al Pokorny's Online Review Report Card

About 2 years ago Dr. Pokorny did Deviated Septum and turbinate surgery on my nose. It has been a nightmare since. I have a harder time breathing out of my nose now than I ever had. My mucus/phlegm that I use to blow out of my nose stays in the back and I have to hack and cough it out. My nose is constantly dry or plugged up. I seen another Dr. after getting no relief from Dr. Pokorney and he said my mucus/phlegm had been redirected. He did a procedure to try and reduce the mucus that brought little relief. He then said there is nothing more he could do. Everyday is a nightmare as I am constantly hacking/snorting and trying to cough/spit out phlegm/mucus. There are actually days I feel like I can't take it anymore. The surgery has destroyed my life and Dr. Porkorny and his staff did nothing to help me. I would give everything I have to undo it.

I've been seeing Dr. Pokorny since 2013. My second sinus surgery was performed by Dr. Pokorny. The surgery went well and recovery was good. I was very pleased with the results. I continue to see Dr. Pokorny regularly. He has provided me with excellent service and most of the time I am symptom free. Dr. Pokorny and his staff are very professional and personal. I would recommend Dr. Pokorny to any of my family or friends.

After having devoured septum surgery 11/ 4/ 2019 I get up every morning hacking up phlegm, I get no mucus I can blow out, I have difficulty breathing through my nose, I have breathlessness and grasp for air, nasal dryness, headaches, reduced sense of smell and taste, lack of mucus, a thick post- nasal drip back into the throat. I now breathe through my nose most of the time especially when active and I am tired. My quality of life went from being active to staying home because of the snorting, hacking and breathing . I mentioned these symptoms every follow-up visit. The first visit I was given a prescription for a runny nose. I wish I had a runny nose, Second visit I was given antibiotics, prednisone and steroids. Third visit nasal rinse. None of these helped. I physically felt like I was drowning and at wits end and the Nurse/PA? said it took time when I called desperate a month or so ago. I told her it was way more than that and am now at wit's end since this is debilitating way of living. Something is really wrong and they don't listen. I am isolated because of the virus but I have been isolated since the surgery. I need a Dr. that cares and will help me fix this.

If you need nasal surgery, than you cannot be in better hands. Dr. Pokorny is at the top of the field in my opinion. A surgeon who knows what he is doing. Go with confidence to see him, knowing you are in good hands.

Dr Porkorny and his MA Heather are a caring and professional team. He has provided me with attentive and professional care as we have navigated through my myriad of sinus problems. I am confident in his abilities and pleased to unequivocally recommend him.

Dr. Pokorny performed a septoplasty and turbinate reduction for me a couple weeks ago. The outcome has far exceeded my expectations. The staff at Spokane ENT were prompt, professional and excellent communicators. And Dr. Pokorny has been direct and unfettered by irrelevant distractions during our interactions. I am thankful that I found him and would recommend him to anyone that asked.

I was very happy with my experience with Dr. Pokorny. I felt that he provided very good information about my procedure and he did not appear condescending in answering my questions. He was very late for one of my appointments because he was dealing with a medical/surgical emergency. I was not bothered by this.....I, too work in the health care industry and understand that emergencies can and do occur. I have been delayed in seeing my own patients because of an emergency....it just happen....

I waited over a year to post this and after a consultant with a surgical center that this Dr referred me to. I had septoplasty and turbinate reductionto help me breathe. I discussed my concerns, repeatedly asking for assurance that my nose wouldn't be crooked. He assured me that if anything, my nose would be more straight. I breathe worse than before and my nose is noticably crooked as well as the tip having completely changed. I hope this helps others so they don't end up where I'm at.

I am very pleased with my surgeon he explained everything to my husband and myself and I am on way to a healthy new year!

Just like the previous comment, Dr. Pokorny was impatient will my child with special needs. My child was dealing with 2 ENT issues. He fired questions one after another and as I was trying to clarify the symptoms he was rude and short with me. He was very impatient with my child and did not try to get to know her. At the end of the visit I was trying to bring attention to the 2nd issues and he was rude and blew me off. Bad experience with Dr Pokorny.
