OMG! Talk about an incompetent organization when hiring qualified employees for clinical positions. I have worked in the fields of mental health, substance abuse, and special populations for over 30 years. When an organization has recruitment staff who do not know or understand the clinical licensing requirements in Washington state (or any state, to say the least), does Frontier Behavioral Health leadership not realize this is impeding their ability to hire employees? Not, especially if you have to deal with an individual by the first name "Allison." I have a terminal degree in clinical counseling (i.e., Ed.S.), and she could not get it through her head that it was not an education degree, a false interpretation on her part. However, I could not understand that I have this degree and other degrees that the state of Washington has accepted to meet licensure and Medicaid billable CACREP accredited degrees. So, the public needs to understand if they want to work for this organization (or consider applying) and be ready to deal with the incompetence of their Human Resources department. It's scary because there is a dire need in Washington to treat our most vulnerable individuals; you must combat an organization's human resources, which is a barrier to hiring credible, seasoned, and competent employees to provide the service. At this point, the professionals should consider employers other than Frontier Behavioral Health. This experience is also why many nursing and mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers leave Washington State because of incompetent human resource practices.
I contacted my social worker and she played games with me acting like i did not show up for my appointment when i specifically told them where to meet me at. As far as the office they did a fabulous job. They never 1 time treat me bad they always answered the phone. They worked their but off but, i must say 1 person can ruin it for everyone.
Beware! Do NOT openly trust or provide this staff any information they can twist or manipulate! after seeking support a DCR arrived with a sales pitch to facility. the evaluator never returned with a recommendation but instead filed a petition for involuntary hold stating the treatment was refuse and patient require immediate medications for stabilization. we were appalled and said she was making a huge mistake taking a child's rights away and forcing them into the facility when they were asking for services the entire time the evaluator abrasively attacked like an upset child. during the "evaluation" (sales pitch) we asked several times that she review the current providers records and whether she's interested in sp with the provider and she flat refused everything which appears to violate RCW. She did not respond well to anyone asking questions or trying to offer information on background and the petition she filed was filled with partial statements making them very misleading and used to support her claims which some were outright false statements and lies such as claims that we only wanted "easy" treatment and that was so far from the truth and never once said nor implied. when they were taking the patient against their will I voiced my concerns and she became hostile accusing me of being the problem and claimed the patient wanted this and I was the problem absolutely offending and making the nightmare even more difficult at that critical time. we were lucky the facility released the patient almost immediately but the entire process still took about 1.5 days since the transport was after hours and that trauma cant be undone nor can the ti be given back. for additional clarification the petition claimed patient required immediate medications and stabilization and no medication was recommended or prescribed for patient. this was a nightmare I don't wish on anyone and the list of offensive and inappropriate behavior and events that took place are too long to list here. please be careful with staff from this place and with any information you trust them with as it was manipulated and opinions were stated as if they were factual. I believe basic human rights were violated and because they are protected by law the abuse of power has no consequences for them to fear. do NOT truse them with your children or family!
I can't believe all the negative reviews on Frontier in Spokane. now I dont feel so bad. I have had to seek services from them several times over the last 15 years. You will be lucky to find any compassionate caring understanding providers there. Seek help elsewhere if possible!!!! The medication providers just want to shove anti-depressants down your throat when your not depressed but have an anxiety disorder that calls for other types of medications. There thought is everyone will become addicted no matter what. not a good way to think when someone needs help from a severe disorder. Then just trying to get on board there with someone is a very time consuming issue.
They have this worst entry into treatment for adult evaluation I've ever experienced in my life. They don't have consistent staffing to handle the bare minimum of walk in appointments that is the only option they offer for evaluation. I've shown up at 730 am to wait an hour then be told they wouldn't be able to see me until late into the afternoon n that was a maybe. n I was the third person waiting in the building. They offered to do zoom which I accepted but was never called back for a zoom meeting... I've now spent the next day calling in n waiting n now an additional third day calling in and waiting. The staff made it sound like you'd just be waiting a little longer for a call back later in the day. But what they ment was if they have noone else in the lobby to see, and no appointments for hospital or children then they call people for zoom. So it's unlikely you will be called. They have no options to try and meet anyone halfway by scheduling or even being able to be seen when you show up like they ask right when they open.. If you have other options besides this place. Do your nerves a favor and run in the opposite direction because not even the staff knows how many counselors will be doing evaluations on any given day so they can't tell you from 1 hour to 8 hours if they will be able to see you that day.. You have to wait there on wait til they call you n if you were unable to answer their call but called them back immediately they're sorry but they have to continue down the list and can't help you.
I have been trying to get ahold of someone for 3 weeks to get my daughter. The 30 day supply of her medication, she was promised when they decided to discharge her. They will not allow me to get this. Or to be seen to get this prescription and keep transferring me to the same people that won't call me back. If my daughter is without her medications, she gets very sick, and they have no compassion or seem to even care that this is happening. Care Navigator Nina is worthless. I've left her 3 voicemails with no response. I've even called her supervisor Jailynn twice, and left an email with no response. Do not recommend unless it is absolutely the only place you can go.
I stayed here for a week during a days long panic attack. The panic attack was from being bullied at work. Lo and behold, one of the "leaders" bullied not only me but everyone who was not a "regular." One of the nurses asked if I'd like a feedback form, because she witnessed the entire verbal assault. She said to use her name. Well, I've had zero response, though I had every place, time, and witness in my feedback. I handed that note to the desk at checkout. I believe someone "lost" it.
In comparison to other non profit mental health organizations...frontier behavioral health is by far the worst in terms of hiring the right staff for the position, and hiring supervisors who actually properly teach, train and encourage their employees. My time here was not great to say the least and my stress was not from working graveyard, it was because I was working under some of the most egotistical, shady and jealous group of women. For an environment that is supposed to provide support and encouragement for their employees --it gives anything but that. It gives... retaliation, micromanagement, passive aggression and bullying. The pay isn't worth the crappy environment. And a tip for ya--the supervisors are definitely never your friend of course... but NEVER trust them. Your coworkers will throw you under the bus, judge you and make you feel like you are dumb. There's no consistency with the training and supervisors do not communicate. God forbid you call them on it. And if you are advised to do a task a certain way, triple check with ALL of the supervisors because you'll get in trouble for doing it WRONG. NO CONSISTENCY. Then they'll try to get you fired. I advise to stay far away from this organization and their staff.
The medication management portion of Frontier is be awful, do not come here if you can help it!! You are lucky if you get 10 minutes of the prescribers,s time, and then they never care to really listen to you as nd try anything differently. I am as lo we as I have ever been, close to suicide, and they still do nothing. They make mistakes when calling in prescription refills. They also do not work integrally with the counseling portion of treatment. My quality of life has gone downhill since coming to Frontier!!
Denied me service, after waiting for months to get my referral from the doctor. I called frontier and the lady who interviewed me was so rude and said we can't take you in. Literally worst place to try and get help, if you aren't ready to kill yourself or someone else then they WONT take you. Such bullshit.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
