My 16 year old was referred here for counseling. They did his intake and set up his initial appointment without consulting me in any way, which is a poor choice considering I need to know the time/day/location in order for him to get there, but that would have been fine except that they have written the wrong day and time on his appointment card EVERY SINGLE TIME they have tried to schedule with us. I called to reschedule the first appointment because they didn't consult me and I couldn't get him there at the time on the reminder card, then they told me that the appointment was actually three days later and at a totally different time than what was written on the card. We showed up for the appointment time and they told us it was actually an hour earlier and they couldn't see him. We rescheduled a week out and the exact same thing happened - we showed up at 5pm and they told us the appointment was actually at 4, even though I called the day before to confirm it was at 5 and they confirmed the time and day with me over the phone. Completely unacceptable, he has never actually been seen and I will not be scheduling any further appointments with them.
Ben Marlow, a counselor at Frontier Behavioral Health suggested "kill yourself" because hes a corrupt provider like so many in Spokane. Never use this place. Do not go in, dont call, and if they do anything REMOTELY BAD you need to complain to the state. This place should be shut down.
Ive had 4 different therapist here. First one left for maternity and I was swapped to someone I wasn't comfortable with so I quit coming here. After a year or so I came back only for my new therapist to tell me that "I dont want therapy" and she "doesnt know why I bother". The guy in charge and I talked about it and got me a new therapist just for her to be on vacation for the whole month.I just stopped coming because this isn't a safe place. I wish there were other therapy services in spokane.
This place is a joke. They leave people that are not a harm to themselves or others in limbo. Even though those people really are not in a stable place at all. They are very delusional and paranoid and exhibit serious mental health problems. They do nothing for them! They leave the in limbo to just get worse and worse. I have watched it happen multiple times with a family member of mine. Why don't they have something in place for the people that are not a harm to others or themselves but yet still in need of serious mental health help? They simply don't care about the people like that. They are just in it for the money. Not to help the people with serious mental health issues. This place disgusts me.
Horrible experience. If you know how to meditate, don't even bother with these guys'.
I don't even know where to start, but to say, don't waste your time here. I was diagnosed with Manic Depression from a different clinic and I told them I was really struggling with it and they no joke stated that since they didn't diagnose me with it, they didn't want to treat it. Told me they just wanted to work on the PTSD first. I then asked for a psychological evaluation so that they could diagnose me, and they stated we don't see the need for an evaluation. Needless to say I ended up at the Chas Behavorial Health up north and they heard me. They changed my diagnoses to Bipolar 1 and got me on my meds and doing therapy.IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH REAL MENTAL HEALTH DONT GO TO THESE FAKES. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR WELL BEING.
The staff and people that are working here are of no use. I wonder what they even getting paid for. They are not doing their work like they are supposed to, they can't even write proper diagnosis
I was reluctant to try but the nice lady i had quit so i dont know staff was friendly and i hope they can help me w my anxiety issues yet but try them it does help god bless all
It was 2011 when the name was changed from Spokane Mental Health to Frontier Behavioral Health. Not a single manager or clinician except myself objected despite the significant difference in psychology between behavior and cognition (the mental part). Mental (the cognitive) suggests that there is some interplay between the hard wiring of the brain and cognition (thinking). Behavioral strongly suggests that the problems (diagnoses) and choices one makes can be manipulated or changed. This is behaviorism which was the first major 20th century paradigm in psychology. The cognitive revolution, along with humanism, came later in the 60's when there were cultural revolutions in the USA and Europe. The cognitive revolution along with humanism heralded in a new, more sophisticated and kindly look at the human. Along with discoveries in neuroscience, cognitive psychology recognizes the higher level abstract ability (from grey matter) present in higher level mammals. Behaviorism reduced things to the level of rats. The USSR government also embraced behaviorism as a means of greater control over the masses. The US government in the form of the military and intelligence agencies also studied behaviorism for the same reasons. If you are following along here, the embrace over behaviorism is a less kind, father knows best level of state control. Cognitive and human psychology recognize the unique gifts humans can have. As a manager in 2010 and 2011, it was clear that SMH, now FBH, wanted nothing to do with the cognitive revolution. It was an anti-intellectual culture. The place was ran by a few HR personnel who knew nothing about mental health treatment and one power hungry clinician who didn't care. The place was largely a jobs program--HR, IT, maintenance jobs attached to an obviously strong "old boys network" to put it mildly or incestuous (more accurate) culture found throughout Spokane. As a graduate student, I was warned not to pursue SMH because of the aforementioned problems, still, I thought, "how bad could a bunch of social workers and mental health types be?" Surely they had heard of humanism and the cognitive revolution? It was not the case and much like kindergarten and primary teachers who can't stop treating everyone as a 6 year old, these folks thought that if behavior and ideas from another human being deviated from their own they must surely fit some type of diagnosis. What they needed then and what they likely still need (the behavioral health part of the name) is cognitive restructuring of their own from someone who actually possesses and uses grey matter. The world is whole lot bigger than Spokane, your church, and your job folks. Mostly what the organization sorely needs now is a complete overhaul to oust the HR personnel that know nothing of mental health treatment along with the rat loving behaviorist clinicians who don't choose to care.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!It was the worst experience I have ever had with any kind of medical/mental health facility. They will give you the run around for MONTHS even if you need urgent psychological help, there is no organization whatsoever and when you actually get to talk to someone, they will waste your time with red tape that serves no purpose in your mental health. I did my intake after being shuffled around from person to person; then they LOST IT! All that private information I gave them is where??? I am a truly disgusted.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
