Spokane Eye Clinic's Online Review Report Card

Spokane Eye Clinc may have some of the best eye doctors but their time management and over booking is RIDICULOUS! Time and time again I have waited 30-1.5 hours after my appointment time to be seen and treated. Other patients walked out because of the wait times.

My doctor sent in a referral so I was anxious to make an appointment with the eye clinic. But, the person I talked to said it was too early since they had just received the paper work. She said they would call me. That was over a month ago. I have not heard a word. I'll just keep waiting and maybe they will call before the new year. And if they ever call I have to pray I don't get an appointment with the doctor that did 4 surgeries on my eyes which all failed!

I've had a problem with my right eye ever since having surgery at the Spokane eye clinic. My vision is fine but something happened there and my eye is always irritated now. The doctor did not answer my questions about the symptoms I was having after the surgery. I was also sent twice to the wrong location. Went back and managers seemed concerned about my situation and referred me to a triage Doc who treated me for Blepharitis which is not the symptoms I was experiencing. I think I'm going to have to go somewhere else and have the surgery redoneas I cannot live like this because I drive for a living and they are not willing to re-do the surgery at Spokane eye clinic.

i've gone to Spokane I four different issues over the last two years. The last time was this June which I scheduled only for a vision check. Instead they build my medical and did test and when I called billing they insisted I scheduled for other things. Where I work I do insurance estimates and scheduling and authorizations so I am very clear on what i scheduled. their billing department just argue with me. They also said I came for a check up for macular degeneration which I've been told by several ophthalmologist I did not have, So why they were testing me or checking up for that, I have no idea. I'm very disappointed in there customer service. Not sure that I trust them now. But they should not have been doing any test without telling me or asking me. I simply wanted a vision check and waited until my year was up for my vision insurance to cover it. They were wrong and they don't admit it.

We have had 3 visits in last 2 months. Each visit involved 2.hours of waiting. We are changing doctors.

I got a same day appointment for an urgent matter, which was accomplished easily. Care was very professional and personal and I left feeling informed, relieved and grateful for the positive experience.

I've been going to the Spokane Eye Clinic intermittently for 20 years, and ... no more. I just can't. 1. The longest appointment was nearly 6 hours from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I walked out. This was for a very standard eye exam. No special testing. They usually take so long getting me back that I end up dilated twice. (No other doctor I've seen does this.) I've never gotten out of here in less than 2.5 hours. Not once. I've nearly always been scheduled for "about an hour and a half."2. They have consistently provided me with unworkable, unwearable prescriptions that are often bizarrely different from what my usual Dr. provides. This is likely related to the fact that their 60 dollar refraction often lasts as little as 5 minutes, and is primarily performed by a tech, not a doctor. 3. Their staff is rude, uninformed, and obfuscating if you have 'inconvenient' questions for them.4. The doctors here will pretty much always argue with you about your symptoms. It's not a medical appointment, it's a cross examination. 5. I don't know if this is still the case, but you have to request your prescription from them at the end of the appointment if you want it. They are very often cagey about providing it. Furthermore, most eye drs will work with you if your prescription doesn't work after you get your frames and lenses, usually providing a free refraction/double checking the glasses. Not these guys! They refused to even check that the glasses I purchased elsewhere were ground to the prescription they'd given me.6. The second-to-last straw was an absolutely horrible appointment with Dr. Kinard in which she told me that she was going to deliberately misdiagnose me for my own good. That was a mind-bender.The only reason I stayed with this clinic as long as I did is they were the only show in town for a very long time. They aren't anymore. And anyway, I now have the means to travel to Portland or Seattle for eye care if the need arises. I will never come back here.

Run, don't walk away from this deceptive organization. I was referred by their dry eye doctor to the surgical facility. She did not know that excessive computer use during Covid caused dry eyes. Her opinion was I had genetic problems requiring continuous ice treatments, creams, special glasses, etc. I solved the problem by less computer time and more blinking. THEN came the surgeon. The sales pitch was that for $3600 additional, I could have perfect eyesight without astigmatisms with only a 5% chance of lesser results. They knew I had mono vision from Lasik some 20 years ago and I reminded them of it during the initial visit. Apparently their eye examiner couldn't tell that one eye was different from the other. After both eyes were operated on unsuccessfully, I would need glasses to correct astigmatisms, reading and distance sight. Dr. Bodhereddy said doing the operation on Lasik patients was the problem. Had they told me that during the sales pitch, I would never have agreed to the additional $3600 above cataract cost. Using that as an excuse after failure seems pretty shady to me. If it is so impossible, why the 5% risk as a selling point? A volunteer friend came to me recently, very upset that after her surgery, she no longer has depth perception and can't drive. Run or at least get a second opinion.

In sum, I will begin: Negligence. Cataract Mill. Below the standard of care. These people ruined my vision for life. They want the money. I went to the Spokane Eye Clinic for a second opinion for something that eventually went away on its own. A short time later I noticed a diminishing in my vision. They are not my regular doctors, but since they had my most recent records, I went back to them. I was LURED into the idea of cataract surgery with the words "Most people are like wow. Who turned on the lights?" This statement lead me to believe that I had just gotten used to my vision and that it could be much improved, which sounded attractive. I was sent to one of their specialists and an appointment was made for the surgery with nearly no conversation from the doctor. When the patch was removed, I was disappointed that my vision was, and still is, eight months later, worse than it has ever been in my life. There was no "Wow. Who turned on the lights?" Only after Googling "why is my vision worse after cataract surgery" did I discover that the implants they use are not a one-size-fits-all. I told the examining doctor that my vision was worse and I wondered if they put the wrong lens in my eye, which I believe they did. He looked very surprised to learn that no doctor or other staff member had any conversation with me to help ME choose which lens to implant. This negligence has caused me to feel like Mr. Magoo in my own kitchen. I need glasses now to wash the dishes, which I did not need pre-surgery. They told me that a second surgery would be too risky, as the eye has already been cut. Here are the "improvements" I do notice: The floaters I had are much more noticeable, making it seem like I now have cataracts clouding my vision. I also see floaters I never knew I had; when driving it appears as if everyone has their brights on, even during the day; department store lights, Christmas lights, all lights are permanently as if my eyes have been dilated; I can often see the edge of the implant, which they told me would go away. I went back to my previous doctor whose exact words were "Yeah, they jumped the gun on this one." He went on to say that he does not recommend cataract surgery until the cataracts get pretty bad, meaning that my cataracts WERE NOT. I learned the hard way that your vision doesn't just affect how you see--it affects how you feel. I believe this feeling is going to be permanent, leaving me wondering: What do I do when I actually need cataract surgery on the other eye? Am I supposed to get the wrong one so that my eyes match?
