List of Timothy W. Bax's Reviews
I met with Dr. Bax to consult for a hernia repair after deciding I did not feel comfortable with a previous referral at another provider. He answered all of my questions and spent the time to explain the pros and cons of the different treatment options he could provide. He explained why he was suggesting the repair he was for me and listened to my concerns and addressed them. He is a caring and talented surgeon. The care and treatment I received at Columbia Surgical Specialists was excellent. I will be recommending Dr. Bax in the future.
Dr. Bax performed my double hernia repair recently. I had been putting this off for at least three years due to recent media noise about the surgical mesh problems and the associated lawsuits. Dr. Bax was referred to me by my primary care physician because of his specialty in my type of hernias. Well. after consulting with Dr. Bax I decided to move forward with the out patient procedure. He assured me that those past issue with the surgical mesh would NOT come into play for my procedure because of changes in the products. He also explained, in detail, how he would perform the procedure, my quality prognosis, and 4-6 week recovery to the point I would be able to resume all normal activity! While any surgical procedure has risk, this Laparoscopic procedure and recovery went just a Dr. Bax described and I could not be happier with the outcome. Both the physical and aesthetic results are excellent and other than four or five days of being pretty sore, I felt pretty good with 48 hours of the procedure. I also have to applaud the entire ColumbiaSurgical staff as their support and efficiency was very appreciated leading up to and after my procedure. Absoultel;y no hassles with insurance approvals, scheduling, getting information, etc. Dr. Bax is a quality surgeon I would gladly recommend to friends and family!
Both myself and my mom have had surgery with Dr. Bax. He and his staff are very personable and helpful. Dr. Bax is a wonderful surgeon.

"Repaired" my wife's hernia. Minth later wife was complaining of same pain and was told it was nothing by Dr Bax, normal surgery pain. 2 months later we are in the ER with the same hernia. His stitches torn through. 2 weeks later back in ER because her chest is filling with fluid from her abdomen "possibly through the hernia site", meaning still not fixed. Dr Bax's surgical team is now refusing to drain the chest or see her because "it's a general surgery issue". I could go on about the staff at his office and how they treated a 100% disabled combat vet with severe PTSD (my wife) but that would only make me angrier.
I went with my "gut" on this one.My first visit with this doctor was not positive. He himmed and hawed and in the end said, yes, you need surgery to fix your HH.So, they scheduled a swallow study. Never heard from them, so I finally called spokane ENT.YES, they had had the order for a.long time. Test done.Weeks later, still no word back on the test from this doctors office. I finally called. His assistant was rude and abrupt in giving me the results and bothered by my asking why no one called. She had a very, know-it-all attitude during the 1st visit also.Due to their lack of communication and overall substandard care, and mannerisms, I chose to not go back . Didnt want to risk my health with this doc.
Dr Bax’ assistant was very nice and explained everything in detail. When I met with Dr Bax he also explained the procedure in detail and answered all of my questions. Staff were all personable and helpful.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
