Misdiagnosed my condition for over a year. Recommended back surgery. Sought second opinion and found out that my back was fine. Turns out I had total blockage of blood in my arteries to the legs. Took the second doc 5 minutes to diagnose. So after enduring a year of pain, my procedure had probably progressed from an outpatient surgery to a full blown double by-pass. I've talked many people who were likewise misdiagnosed.

Dr. Halma is ignorant of current breastfeeding recommendations (such as the recommendation to start solids at 6 months not 4), ignorant about care of intact male infants (such as the recommendation about not ripping back their foreskins), natural childbirth (I quote: "be prepared for excruciating pain"...thanks for the support), and natural family planning. He is condescending to those who choose natural family planning methods, including Lactational Amenorrhea Method, and expects to "see you soon" if you do choose to incorporate breastfeeding as a factor in your family planning. If any of these areas are important to you, find another doctor for pregnancy, childbirth, and related areas of care.
